This morning MLB Network's play of the day belonged to none other than our beloved Ryan Howard.

Phils played great defense yesterday. If they play that way in the playoffs nobody's beating them. I think about a third of the "earned" runs these guys give up are from poor defense.

thing is there were probably tens of thousands of other drunk drivers leaving that game and putting other people in danger too.

Ruben Amaro Jr. told Paul Hagen of the Philadelphia Daily News that he doesn’t want to let Jimmy Rollins slip away when he hits free agency. The Phillies’ general manager expressed optimism about reaching a new deal with his shortstop after the season.

"Obviously, we'd like to bring Jimmy back,” Amaro said. “And I'd like to think he would want to come back."

Amaro said he probably won’t discuss a deal for Rollins until after the season. The Phillies are up against the luxury tax and will also see Ryan Madson hit free agency this winter. Cole Hamels is an extension candidate, which means Amaro faces major decisions regarding key members of his team in the near future.

I examined Rollins' free agent stock yesterday, suggesting that he and the Phillies could agree to a three-year, $30MM deal. The 32-year-old projects as a Type A free agent, so the Phillies would obtain two top draft picks if they offer arbitration and he declines the offer and signs elsewhere.

Right, probably more like 3 yrs $36M. I just think they should make sure he retires a Phillie. He's been an extremely important part of the franchise in its most successful run ever.

And, Fixer, what'd ya think of the Summer Love? They need to get that shit on tap at CBP ASAP. And I'm convinced it is the best beer to drink on the beach. A 6 pack would definitely not be enough if I was drinking them.

On a related note, I was in Eulogy a couple nights ago. Ended up meeting the head brewmaster/owner of La Chouffe. Huge fat Belgian dude who was a dick. But I cant blame em. They teamed up with Ommegang to make a beer called Gnomegang. That shit was damn good.

Mmmm La Chouffe. Some people in Brugge introduced us to that about 7 years ago before it got here. Perhaps my favorite beer.

anyone ever been to this tiki bar up in spring mountain? i would think jp would be the more likely to know about it.

apparently its all outdoors and each table has their own grill where you grill your own food.

that fucking sucks...makes me wonder how many times i got lucky on the 3 block walk home from camden yards (although there were probably 1/3 the amount of peeps at those games)...plus regret the time i drove back to bmore after Philly 2 @ spectrum. hope he recovers.
