Guess he looked good until he actually started playing in the Majors.

I don't know - I don't think I'd mind just playing Mayberry most of the rest of the season and see how he does, rather than trading Cosart and shit like that. Maybe give Brown about half the starts vs. righties to keep him developing. Brown not only is terrible in RF, he seems to be regressing.

if they trade brown they should platoon mayberry in LF.

I think pence being under control through 2013 is huge.

Cosart has had some arm issues. He's kinda like Jason Knapp was (though cosart is rated better as a prospect).

I'm all for them going all in for this year and 2012

And thats the thing - Williams is an idiot. Like its been said, if the Phils are the only ones left going hard after Pence then start negotiating with Tampa and Chicago and tell Houston to go screw if they don't like the original package plus Worley, sans Brown. Remember - Brown is the same dude they didn't give up for fucking Halladay. So my point is for this team to not go so crazy over Pence when theres other decent options out there. But, on that note, if this team plans to win in the playoffs they HAVE to do something, anything.

What we need is anything other than Ibanez and Brown in the lineup together. And youre right, Pence isn't worth some ridiculous ransom. They just better do something.

the chisox gave up on the season in 1997(?) when they were 3.5 out of first and shipped us roberto hernandez, danny darwin and someone else.
