    It's actually nothing like cricket except that you hit a ball with a wooden object. I shouldn't have been so inclined to give cricket that much credit, or demean baseball that much.

    It's just a name. I'm sure if back in the 1880's when the baseball winner won the World Championship Series which eventually was shortened to World Series with the American League vs. National League format that was set into place in 1903 there was enough backlash from the rest of the world the name wouldn't have stuck, but now the name World Series is part of the institution that is baseball.

    I know right? It's no game of running around for 90 minutes while seeing at the most 2 goals while some pansies kick a ball and whine about getting hurt and spray water on their "injury" as if it's the water of the Gods. Now THAT is an amazing game. ;)

    And as for the other big sport - rugby. I play rugby and it sure isn't any football - gridiron that is in Euro-speak. ;)

    soccer bores me to tears these days... it's been destroyed by the big pays and the diva attitudes. Rugby, on the other hand :) now THAT'S a sport... as is gaelic football and hurling... proper mens sports where they would actually DIE for the game :D and an injury is a sign of weakness and wins you nothing!

    I don't even need to look. Being someone who has had their nose broken three times, torn my AC joint in my left shoulder, and have dislocated my right shoulder multiple times, I know alllll too well.

    That sounds like a typical hockey practice. I got my femur and knee destroyed in a hockey game. Tough to have to retire at 15.
