    Everyone in the group gave it 3 out of 5. 

    Outside of the technical aspects, it was great before the intermission and after it was not sticking the landing for another 90 minutes.

    Exactly! The New York grit is what absolutely makes this movie - you're spot on (Ignoring the small handful of surprisingly casual moments of racism in it). The Denzel one is not bad, but this one has so much more realism.

    Also, I think Travolta was great in Pulp Fiction bit him showing up as the crazy villain in all the films following in the wake of that was boring. I give him Face off. But other than that I imagine there would be better and less hokey options for the villain. Pelham incuded.
