    Zoolander

First time. That was awful. I thought that about 3 minutes of the film were mildly amusing -- namely, the riff on 2001: A Space Odyssey when they're trying to get into the computer. The rest was trash.

I've skipped this one for many years because Ben Stiller's scripts and direction just don't resonate with me at all.

    He's a killer actor, though.

Bleh, not the type of movie I was expecting.

Tropic Thunder was probably his best effort, but I don't like that one much either.

    mother!

it was getting pretty good reviews from critics but some people/friends who had seen it didn't like it.  I didn't really care for it too much.  Aside from Jennifer Lawrence's performance it was kinda bad.

    Don Jon

Much better than I thought it would be. The subject matter sounded stupid as hell, and I can generally only stand people acting like New Jersey garbage people for so long. But the movie was amazingly well executed by everyone, with the weakest link being Scarlett Johansson. Her character was still vapid, which is really her only asset as an actress (if one can call it that), but New Jersey garbage people have strong feelings about their vapidity. She doesn't do strong feelings well.

    You go, little Tommy Solomon!

  • Huh.  Didn't watch this movie, also thought it looked idiotic.
Northern (Garbage People) NJ doesn't typically interest me either, lol.
Googling ScarJo images from this movie....

This movie looks pretty good to me.  Need to check it out.

  • Watched Ben Hur remake with my wife the other night on the plane.  Some very silly stuff going on but I was entertained in general.  Chariot scene didn't kill anyone this time around, at least.
