Yip, I have 4 alarms all set at different times and FOR different times :D I still hate getting out of bed but I always get up in time for work.

yeah I just get up and turn off the alarms and go back in bed.
I still make it to everywhere I need to be, but I wait until the very last minute, which is only a problem because there are many things I need to do before heading to work.

Do you exercise? I find I sleep better and can spring out of bed in the morning if I exercise.
Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
  • Ive always been one to set my alarm liike 45 minutes before I really need to get up. I just like to wake up, hit snooze, and go back to sleep. Its the best. Unfortunately where I'm staying while I wait to move, I dont think they'd appreciate the alarm going of every 10 minutes for an hour lol.

I do the same during the week, but I have to set 3 alarms over the space of 45 mins incase I turn them off. The first is Betterman (nice and gentle starting), followed by GTF. When the finally alarm, Do The Evolution goe off, I know it's time to haul ass to the shower :(

My housemates don't appreciate it too much at 5am but it really is necessary. :o

oh yeah, all about the exercise, and that's really the main problem in all of this- I really, really, really dislike exercising at night, so I have to go early in the A.M. but now...I can't get up to do it. It's decreased the level of my physical activity. And like last night I played soccer, and I couldn't sleep (I stay wired after I exercise for like ever) so then of course, couldn't get up to exercise this morning. I make it to work at the last minute because I HAVE to, but I can't get out of bed to make it to the gym.

I have new upstairs neighbours and a ceiling made out of some thin papery substance. Getting to sleep last night was a chore.

Try green tea, it helps ;)..

before bed? it has caffeine? I do usually have tea once I'm at work in the morning. but I usually have chamomile at night to both warm me up and relax which is supposedly good for going to sleep (chamomile is herbal tea so it doesn't have caffeine).

Perhaps consider having a few scoops of green tea ice cream..you like that flavor don't you? :)..

I think you sound a bit disorganized....you throw together some wrinkled clothes?
    Why are they wrinkled?
    Are they dirty?
You need to start organizing your time better or buy more clothes so you have clean, unwrinkled clothes to wear to work.
I don't know where you work, but you should always be presentable and clean.

yeah green tea is an actual tea plant, whereas something like chamomile is a different plant but referred to as "tea" because you steep it. if it's a kind of tea that comes from a tea plant, it has caffeine.

my clothes are actually wrinkled because I don't have any storage space, so when the clothes come out I just leave them in the basket (yes always clean thoug). My office is extremely casual, it doesn't really matter what I look like. it's more of an example of how I'm always rushed in the morning.

Have you ever tried biking to work? The extra exercise may also help you fall asleep faster..

I usually either bike or walk to work. it's a bit extra exercise but it's not very far to the office. it's nice though. I bike a lot on the weekends too. you?

You should try folding them before you put them in the basket.
I always kick myself when I don't take them right out of the dryer and fold them because you just canNOT get those darn wrinkles out.
But since it is sunny and nice out, I have put the clothes outside to dry today and save energy.
Try laying out everything you need for your morning routine the night before.

Yeah you are right I am pretty disorganized these days.
I usually do try to organize my gym clothes and whatnot before I go to sleep.

Hey look what a coincedence, someone dedicated an entire thread to green tea ice cream, but unfortunately my question still remains ;)..

  • the night before - get your stuff ready for work, and the gym.
even if you fall asleep late and you only get a few hours set your alarm for the earliest time that would allow you to go to the gym, have breakfast and get into work looking presentable.

and then it is a question of willpower. this is waking up - you have effectively ruled out ALL medical conditions therefore, I can safely assume that you are not motivated (boring job, etc) and that your INTENTION and ASSURANCES that you prefer a morning workout is not enough. so JUST DO IT.

    get your ass up.

bleary eyed and feeling like crap and go to the gym. and then your "wired" behavior will kick in, and you can dress and get ready eat breakfast and trot off to work (or bike to work)

at night you will be tired because you are in the process of readjusting your circadian rhythm. You may even get to go to bed earlier than before.

you have to do this routine EVERY day until it feels normal. don't backslide.

as you age, you will still need to get a certain amount of sleep - and shortchanging sleep for longer nights will cause a person who was once a morning person to sleep in. you can change that.

by the way, green tea can be decaffeinated. but as it is - it can contain upwards of 32 mg of caffeine per serving...

    thanks I am trying!
I set my alarm for 6:22, every day, no matter what time I go to bed.
Most days, I don't remember turning it off, which is strange because I have to at least climb over some stuff to get to it.
Sometimes I feel as though there are 2 of me-one wants one thing really bad but can't convince the other to do it? It happens with more than waking up.
but yes, I think that I have somehow gotten reprogrammed- I was in graduate school for years and on a completely different type of schedule, and I think that it's been this way since then-been trying to get back for over a year.

well I guess it's always about getting work and making money in the end, but don't get me wrong, it's not about being greedy, it's just about being sucked into the system!
