Yep, that's because they just don't have any clue.0 -

The snap shot judgement comes from those who lack empathy and understanding of why a person would commit suicide! Because they are ignorant as to why someone would commit suicide they buy into the stereotypes about suicidal people!
Last year, I did some voluntary work for a charity called mind and they help people with mental health issues and during my time I met several people who attempted to commit suicide and it was through meeting these several people, listening to them as they opened up about their lives that I realised they were not heinous people, but rather thoroughly decent people who had problems dealing with the stresses and strains of life and who had rough child-hoods that made me want to cry!0 -
Cocaine_Nosejob wrote:So I went to the Neil Young show tonight at the ACC...and it was an awesome show, but unforunately it's not a night that I will remember fondly.
I was on the GO train from Union station to Burlington, but when the train got to the Oakville stop (for those non-Ontarians: Oakville is about midway between Toronto and Burlington) we were informed that the train would not be going any further and that bus connections would be provided for the rest of the route.
People bitched and complained, which is to be expected.
BUT, when everyone was in the line waiting to get on the bus, we were told that the reason for the transfer was that someone had jumped infront of the bus that was on the route prior to ours.
People continued to bitch and complain. About how it's too cold to get off the train and wait outside for the bus....the bus is too crowded...the bus is too slow...
Fuck people...someone committed suicide! Spare me your sob story about minor inconveniences.
One of my friends just moved to London and he was waiting for a train to come into the station when some guy jumped in front of it. Like in happened right beside him! :( The worst part was that all the people around him just kept complaining that he had to kill himself during rush hour :( People are just so disgusting :mad:0 -
in Rotterdam we have the Euromast, where people ( back in the days, its protected against suiciders now) jumped off
to end up on one of the cars that where waiting for a red light right underneath the tower.....imagine that, sitting in your car, pompidompidom...SPLASHHHHHCRASH!!!!!!

Cocaine_Nosejob wrote:Because they were the easiest source to vent their frustrations too...which happens all too often.
Granted, I might be over-sensitive to stuff like that. I worked in retail all through high school.
The whole problem for me was that these people were mad that their plans were slightly changed...which is not a big problem.
Obviously the person who killed themselves had a problem much worse than a route change.
Get over yourself.
Stop yelling at people who are doing their best to help you.
I just wish that people would think of someone other than themselves once in a while.
How do you know their plans were slightly changed or that they were only thinking about themselves. They have families, friends and stuff to attend to. Perhaps they missed a very crucial connexion, perhaps they were going to see a friend who was in dire need etc.
I agree, there's no reason to shout at the people who are there to help you, though.THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG!

No matter what you feel about suicide, bitching and complaining about a minor inconvenience to you as a result of someone’s death is wrong all the way around.
I don’t care what you say.
Sorry that the evening ended in such a sad way.Don't come closer or I'll have to go0 -

Regardless of their situation, it's a jerk move to jump in front of a train. You cause inconvenience for a lot of people, trains running late (not just the one jumped in front of), extra buses or trains need to be employed; that means people, you can traumatise a lot of people (just imagine you're the driver), people have to clean up whatever's left of your body and I can tell you it's not a pretty sight.
I don't know how it is in the States or Canada but here the family actually has to pay a pretty large bill (costs, delays, clean up... )THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG!

but don't you think that they are in a state of mind what makes them unaware of the trauma they cause? i mean, f.e. how may children have walked into one of their parent's who hung themselves? if they where in their "right" mind, they would'nt have done it that way. there really isn't a way to kill yourself that won't cause a trauma for those who love you...i'm not happy yet.....0 -
dammm ... that sucks ... that was a great show too ... wilco was fantastic as well only to have that high taken away ...0

Because every single person on that train was coming from the Neil show and there were only 3 more stops on that route, with no connections after that.

That is very sad. But yeah it does not surprise me that people were acting that way. Sometime people suck.Dig a ditch deep enough

You have to pay here too.
And I understand the frustration. But the person who killed themselves obviously didn't care about that. And I can guarantee you that if I was in the frame of mind in which suicide seemed to be the only option, I wouldn't care either.
Selfish? Yes. But it certainly doesn't downplay the severity of their situation."The customer...is always...an ASSHOLE"
