we've got amazing talent all over the pitch & when they work together they really are a joy to watch. but as you say, they need to grind out those ugly games. they were doing it in the middle of the season, moreso than the season before, but fell away as we all know. they're lacking a leader, sorry gallas, you are important member but you did NOT lead when your team needed you too. flamini is a huge loss, more than hleb.
ronaldo was amazing for you of course but players like scholes, giggs & rio are HUGE to man utd, on & off the pitch. unlike us who have players like fabregas leading the squad at 21  toure should have been made captain, he would thrive in that role.
counting down to 08/09 season!!Look Alive,

Basketball and Hockey have seasons. And Dodgeball is a playground sport, so it doesn't count. I work with ppl who's kids play Fall League soccer, then indoor winter soccer, Spring Soccer, and Summer league soccer. It's nuts. They drive 10+ hours sometimes on weekends to go to tournaments in other states."It's all happening"0 -

i just thought about this thread this morning... i remember most of the guys who hate football say "it's boring to watch"
then it dawned on me that americans like sports they can WATCH... soccer is supposed to be played... thats where the joy of the sport comes in... its just great to PLAY...
like golf... i hate watching it.. it bores me to tears.. but i enjoy playing it!!!
so get up off your bums and go out and play the sport and you'll understand how enjoyable it is.

play soccer... its more fun than watching it.oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

A Man U fan paying respect to arsenal? Do mine eyes deceive me?! great to see! To be fair, Arsenal were a delight to watch last season. Lets hope theres more of the same this year:) I've a feeling Walcott will have a good season this year...********************************
How to be happy and true is the quest we're taking on together.

Toon Army fans here!!!! Poor Newcastle - I thought they might be on their way to relegation last year. Hopefully this season will be more promising.
Also, used to live in Frisco, TX about 2 miles from Pizza Hut Park where FC Dallas plays. Boy, what a find they had in Juan Toja - but of course they can't hang on to him. Last I heard he was off to some team in Romania so that he could get European exposure and and chance to play in Champions League and UEFA Cup. At least the MLS is "trying" to improve its product.I wish a guy like Eddie, would like me.0 -

yeah i can go with that... although with baseball its only fun if your either hitting or throwing... at least with a soccer you ALL participate at the same time... especially if its 5 a side indoor footie...
but i agree, i think all sports are better to play than to watch... except lesbian oil wrestling of course.oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

Being in the outfield in baseball is no different than being the goaltender in soccer when the ball's on the other side of the fieldWell, I expect you'd see the ball more often in the outfield in baseball...

Man united......ugh Arsenal........ugh Newcastle.........LOL
Much more fun to be a bolton fan. Genuine excitement when we win, actually matters if we lose. Knowing you'll be top 4 (Man Yoo, Pool, Chelski, Arse) is boring. Outside of a cup run the season is pre-written.
Then with the likes of Newcastle it'll be a topsy turvy season of stupidly high expectations. The manager will either get fired or save his job for one more year. Despite the ineptitude of the management the team will stay up based on massive spending.9/7/98, 8/3/00, 9/4/00, 4/15/03, 7/1/03, 9/28/04, 9/29/04, 5/24/06, 5/25/06, 6/17/08, 6/22/08, 6/28/08, 6/30/08, 5/17/10, 10/15/13, 10/16/13.0 -

ok goaltender made me laugh
i agree being a goalkeeper is the shittiest part of the team... but baseball has how many of those outfielders?? football has 1 per team.. the other 10 guys all run around and pass, shoot, tackle, etc... baseball is great for the one guy trying to hit, the guy pitching... and eh... the guy in the outfield who might be lucky to try and catch the ball if it comes his way.
basketball... thats the only US sport i can think off that might be akin to playing soccer... at least everyone on the pitch is involved to an extent.
Ice Hockey as well... that'd be a great sport to play.oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

In actuality, the outfield in baseball actually sees a lot of action, actually.
And hockey is great to play AND watch.0 -

Mocking him for being a "goaltender" (:p) would be like mocking Buddy Rich for being a drummer.
