NYPJ1, you know I have gradually learned to appreciate your sparkling personality, but I have to tell you that you are coming across like a poor loser here. You went from talking a lot of trash about your beloved Lakers to saying that basketball is a sport for girls in a big hurry. Funny how that lined up with your team losing in the finals. You are supposed to be a badass hockey player, right? So man up and accept the fact that your team lost to a better team, even if they are from Boston.

You sure rubbed it in when NE lost the Superbowl. A little humble pie might be just what the Doc (Rivers) ordered...

    oh god......

Look, we know you love the Patriots and you'll defend them to no end and that's fine because I'd do the same thing for the Steelers. but if you're really suggesting that Eli Manning should have been called down for being in the grasp (not "the grass") prior to that pass to Tyree, then you truly are just a homer looking to make excuses. first off, the "in the grasp" stuff is called when the QB is engulfed with defenders and has no chance at all to go anywhere....not when a d-lineman or two who are engaged with blockers have one hand on his jersey.

The Patriots lost because their offense was shut down (holding the '07 Pats to 14 is after all "shutting them down"). The Giants were the better team that day...when they had to be. but if you want one play to use as your excuse, you're better off using the would-be interception that Samuel dropped on the last drive than Eli to Tyree. With that play, someone like you would say "See, Eli sucks. He SHOULD HAVE been picked off right there and the game COULD HAVE been over and so the Pats WOULD HAVE been 19-0." I would give Eli credit for being an opportunist and taking advantage of Samuel's bad play. He could have ended up having to settle for a field-goal and possibly losing in OT.

Yeah, but all that means is that the Lakers lost to a bunch of gay/girls who didn't even feel the need to stay on the court all game because it wasn't that competitive. They probably weren't injured at all but they were bored and needed some excuse to go check their email or something...

I look forward to a rematch next year...

Perhaps Odom and Gasol would have benefited from faking an injury. Now they really don't have any excuse for their often times lousy/soft play.

If there is a rematch, I'll be rooting for the Lakers. Still, I was happy to see KG get his ring.

dear lord, don't you people get tired of this?

Boston is on a hell of a run. I'm totally stoked and appreciating every moment of it.

The Patriots did not choke in the Superbowl, they got outplayed. People saying the Pats choked are not giving the Giants the respect they deserve.

Manning was not in the grasp, Tyree's catch was effin' unreal, Samuel did not make the catch for the INT ... get over it, we still have 3 superbowls to relish and one of the top teams in the NFL still.

The Yankees are STILL and always will be the franchise to beat title wise, at least in our lifetimes.

When it comes to titles, the Celtics are the Yankees of the NBA.

The Red Sox, after decades of stupidity finaly wised up .... pitching wins championships. That and a stocked farm system. They should be in contention for the next 5 years or so. (after that, it's way too long term to predict).

Bostonians do not want to be New Yorkers, New Yorkers do not want to be Bostonians ... thus, there is no jealousy for either side. Just stop with these arguments.

Hard to imagine...all season long both the O-line and offensive squad were praised then fell asleep on the biggest stage of them all. :(

I still don't get why all the Monday morning QBs are always arguing.
So the Patriots lost the Superbowl.
Remember that thread a bit back...about men being happier? :p This crap doesn't phase us a bit.
    Again, congrats Celtics.
I am sure Lou is happy.
And yes, I will keep putting my nose in this thread. :p

Yeah but you women will nearly kill one another over a discount wedding dress at the annual Filene's Basement Bridezilla clearance, or you'll get depressed over not having the right shoes to match your new handbag, so I'll take arguing over sports and peeing standing up any day.
