Has there ever been a City that had ALL of the Major Sports teams make the Playoffs including MISL?

    CELTICS.............World Champions

PATRIOTS...........runner up in the Super Bowl

    RED SOX...............Defending World Series Champions

    BRUINS...................Made the Playoffs

REVOLUTION...........runner up in the MISL Championship

I hate everything Boston (including Sam Adams) but the Celts did have a great season...congrats...but to answer your question:

    1986:
MLB: Mets win WS (over Boston)
NFL: Giants and Jets make playoffs, Giants win SB
NHL: Ils and Rangers make playoffs
    NBA: Nets make the playoffs

    2000:
MLB: Yanks and Mets in World Series
    NFL: Giants in Super Bowl
    NHL: Devils in playoffs
    NBA: Knicks in playoffs

    2002:
    MLB: Yanks in playoffs
    NFL: Giants in playoffs
NHL: Devils and Isl in playoffs
    NBA: Nets in Finals

I only know about NY teams and I am sure this has happened many more times. I am sure the west coast has had a bunch as well. And I don't count soccer, it is not a "major" sport.

Yeah, soccer is by no means a "major" sport in the US.
And having all 4 teams make the playoffs is not that uncommon.
Your mention of 1986 brings to mind that Boston had a decent run that year as well....Pats lost Super Bowl XX in January, Celts won title in June and Sox lost WS in Oct, plus Bruins were in the playoffs.

I believe Philly (if you can believe that) holds the distinction of all 4 teams being in the finals in the same year, 1980 if memory serves.

I meant to put 4 major sports teams but in ALL my excitement it slipped me. Yes soccer is not a major sport in this country and may never be. Besides I'm a DC UNITED fan not a Revolution fan. THE only sports team from Beantown I don't like.

Oh thanks for the info on the other sport teams and CITIES.

Yes that is correct and I remember an article in the Washington Post on Beantown and their sports dominance that year.

Man I'd love to find that article.

When the Yankees win the world series this year all order will be restored in Yankee Country
Giants Yanks, and Soon to be Rangers this year. and the Jets in two Years.

Look in the dictionary under the word "choke" for a picture of the Yankees. :)

That's outstanding but another championship would've really set them apart.

Well 3 in today's game is closer then you think to 4 in 1980 given that there are 25+% more teams now compared to then across the 4 major sports.

    SHOW COUNT: (170) 1990's=3, 2000's=53, 2010/20's=114, US=124, CAN=15, Europe=20 ,New Zealand=4, Australia=5
    Mexico=1, Colombia=1
