I had it all written up and as soon as he swung I clicked. I was going to the game tonight but the gas prices said stay home and watch. I've never sat in that section so my chances of getting #500 would've been nil.

Congrats...even the O's fans gave him some love. :)

I heard he asked a few players to give a video message when he hit his 500. And Alex Rodriguez was one of them. I don't know if they played it there.

    Congrats Manny on #500!!!

Also Griffey got his 599 today as well.

Both guys are truly 90's baseball icons coz they did it the RIGHT way.

I wish Grumpy, Jr. had been healthy all those years. he'd have well over 700 by now. It's a shame.

1st ballot HOF--no doubt. One of the best hitters of his era, without a doubt. He has not played the game "the right way". His team wanted to get rid of him for nothing whatsoever in return, after years of trying to trade him with absolutely no takers, leaguewide. 29 other teams could have had, for just the $50,000 or so waiver fee. That does not happen to all time great hitters who play the game the right way

Showing Manny's homerun on ESPN and what a beautiful swing he has. Sort of reminds me of how I swung when I played baseball/softball, center and to rightfield.

im in highschool, on the baseball team, and i would absolutley kill to have the balance he does. im a deadpull hitter and i need to find a way to get it to right.

I'm a righthanded hitter, dead pull hitter when I first started playing and teams would put the shift to stop me. Pitchers hated me cause I was vicious up the middle. I'd set them up fouling one off to the right then I'd rip one down the line to left.

I mostly would hit where it's pitched but man was a great feeling hitting the ball to right. I was basically a righthanded lefty or a lefty who happens to bat right.

    Peace

Trouble is, we really don't know that. The media preaches it, so the masses believe. Who knows what lurks below Manny's baggy uniform? And how do we know Griffey has never had any help? I'm just saying...

I was hoping he would hit a slump and I could see him hit 500 in person in a few weeks. Oh well, 600 maybe? :p

4th highes batting avg. to while hitting his 500th. But I think it Fenway park helped since the 3 above him were all Red Sox. Williams. Ruth and Foxx. Alex has the 5th highest. And he was almost a Red sock.

One can say that and say it loudly when Pujols gets to 500. However, Guess what he ain't there yet.

he hasn't been in the league as long as ManRam. Do you think any GM in baseball would take Manny over Albert?

I've always been suspicious of griffey, due to all the injuries. That's not concrete proof, but those are the times we live in.

Albert could be juicing, too. Another "nice guy" who, pretty much, gets a free pass.
