I think people's views on it are very warped. I don't think it has any more risk than meeting someone anywhere else. I consider meeting someone at a bar and talking to them because of their looks a very shallow thing to do, but that's just me.

I've been using the internet since I was about 14, and i've made some great friends this way. A lot of them i've still never met. I might at some point, but it doesn't matter if I do or not, they are still my friends. I didn't meet any of them until I was 18, and that was to go a gig.

I think, if anything, I show more of my personality on here than I do to people I meet. It's easy to show a side of yourself in writing that you can't show as easily in person, as the embarassment factor is much less. If anything, I conceal more of my personality in the "real world".

Oh...and why the hell would a seven year old need to use the internet? I just wouldn't let them use it. For quite a few years. There really is no reason for them to, in my eyes at least.
