I can't stand Belichick, but that team is far and above every other team they have played (except Indy), that their record has nothing to do with that spying mess.

There was a quote in a Pittsburgh newspaper by a Steelers assistant coach, saying they would change their signals when they played the Pats because they knew they were being filmed... if it was that common of knowledge, the benefit of videotaping couldn't have been that big.

if the league thought that the rule violation impacted the outcome of the game, they would have forced the pats to forfeit the game

Hey lets give credit where credit is due! The Dolphins are also in the midst of their own quest for a perfect season 0 - 16!!! ;) .....And that would make them the only team to achieve two perfect seasons!!!

Wouldn't be something if in the season where someone finally matches (and eclipses due to the longer season) the 72 Dolphins, that the current Dolphins team also goes winless.

They do play the Jets again and the Eagles, so they probably won't end up 0-16, but you never know.

No, I don't see why they would deserve one.

I do find it funny that this team will only get better next year, because they're projecting to have a top 7 pick in next year's draft because San Fran is a mess right now.

Not to hijack this thread, but I see the Eagles winning 3 of their next 4, the one loss being New England.

Who knows how long this has been going on? Just because they got caught in the first game of the season, doesn't mean that this was the first time that they did it. But why cheat against the Jets- that's the bigger question.

  • It's been widely admitted that taping the other coaches is a common practice and teams know who is doing it. The Patriots were just stupidly brazen enough to do it so publicly. They had been warned several times but continued the practice.

Teams are always looking for an edge, I'm sure there are much worse things that go on between teams that we do not hear about.

    No way.

In related news, I overheard something on espn about somebody from the steelers organization guaranteeing a steelers win over the patriots this week.

It's that, but it's also HOW they win. They're a great team, and everyone hates teams that beat their home team and go to the Super Bowl all the time...that's a fact for sure. Everyone hated the Cowboys in the 90's for the same reason.

But the Patriots get extra special hate because they've had some really important games where a bunch of weird things happen, and they come back for a win that seemed impossible. The way the Ravens lost was pretty much the worst way you could lose, and hurts a lot more. It was similar to the Chargers game last year, which I still can't believe. You really do have to play great for 60 minutes to beat the Patriots...59 minutes isn't enough, because then the refs and the Patriots have a bigger influence on the outcome.

But still, the bottom line is that if the Patriots weren't winning, nobody would care about their spying or "smugness" or whatever else.

Definitely not. They are head and shoulders above the rest of the league and if they go undeafeted they deserve all the accolades that go with it. Even if they didn't video tape the Jets they would have creamed them. They would have creamed the Jets even if they just played with all their back-ups and just put 10 men on the field and I'm a Jets fan.

It is kinda ironic that no team has ever gone 15-0 and no team 0-15 (the records were set in 14 game seasons) and that the Dolphins and Pats meet each other in Game 15.
