    Everywhere that 3 states come together is referred to as a tri-state area by local media.

    Ohio, KY, Indiana
    Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina
    Minnsota, North Dakota, South Dakota
    Etc.

    I thought it had to have conjoined MAJOR cities within a couple of hour apart.
    Like Philly, Trenton, and NYC.
