:D come on paul pierce. don't be a willis reed, or an isaiah thomas (the player, that is).

Yeah. That whole incident was pretty lame. ABC over dramatizing it was even lamer. Lakers will take game 2.

and how the fuck would you know? do you have some inside knowledge on the pain a other human beings feel? Your fanboy is showing.

    oh btw

" some 45 minutes later the injury was clearly bothering him more.

As he walked to his car, Pierce was still wearing his warm-ups. The snaps along the right side were hanging open, revealing a wrapping of several ace bandages from the bottom of his calf to the top of his thigh, an additional layer of white tape wrapped around the lower half of his hamstring, ending just above his knee.

Pierce's feet moved no more than 12 inches with each step, and as you watched him begin to navigate the four flights of stairs from the locker room level to the players' parking lot, you couldn't help but wonder exactly how much adrenalin had fueled his comeback."

    Real classy, questioning Pierce's injury.

What should i expect from this board or laker fans.

    its over

Boston in 6 assuming Pierce can over come his "fake" injury according you "people". To bad the refs didnt call in the grass or New england would have the 3 sport sweep.

first of all, i am not a lakers fan. second, the main point of the thread was not to question his injury, but to say that i dont think that he should be compared to willis reed in 1970 and it already is. third, fanboy is not a good description of the kind of basketball fan i am. i watch all the games and just love good basketball. that being said, i do fucking hate boston so fucking much...

...And that's why you brought forth this thread in the manner that you did. Pure nonsense, it appears you hoped the Celtic haters would ALL jump on board with this weak attempt of yours. Game #2 is crucial for the Celtics.

false. the main point of the thread was the willis reed comparison, but im sure you have no idea what im even talking about with that. i admit it was poorly executed, but those were not my intentions at all.

Well that was the intentions I got from this thread. Also can you think of another incident other than the Willis Reed episode to compare the PP one.

I saw that wheelchair and knew he was coming back in a grand entrance. Sure enough, 10 seconds after he got into the locker room, the report was that he was walking. Then, a couple minutes, he is dancing like a boxer.

Ha. Seriously, who didn't see that coming?

Fucking Celtics, man. Nothing surprises me anymore. It's good tv though.

it was lame...just like his post-game comment when asked if he would be able to play the next game.

    "i don't know"

whatever. it's the finals. you're not hurt that badly. go out and play and lose to the Lakers next game.

Yep. First they carried him off like he had broken both his legs. Then they rolledhim off in a wheelchair. Then a couple minutes later, he trots in. Reminded me of the old WWF.

Reminded me of the old WWF.

Exactly... like when Randy Savage "crushed" Ricky Steamboat's larynx with the timekeeper's bell and then Steamboat had to make this miraculous recovery not only to come back and beat Savage, but just to regain the ability to speak again.

I still say the C's had Mr. Miyagi back in the trainer's room working some of that Daniel-san magic on Pierce. I think the NBA Finals is just as much of a national stage as the All Valley Karate Championships were.
  • I was at a sports bar in the middle of Burbank, and i had on Celtics: Shorts, cap, Atlantic Division champions shirt, my Pierce jersey over that, and my warm-up top over that...

I kept the warm-up top closed, so no-one knew i had the Pierce jersey on. I was at the very front of the Sports bar, right under the big screen, lol, i got there early to get a good spot.

At the end of the 3rd quarter, after he hit the 2 big 3's, i took my warmup off, lol, and the whole friggin' place booed me, it was great. Something hit me in the back, something soft, no idea what it was, i didn't turn around. Lol, i loved it, the whole night.

what the hell are you talking about? if you watched the game, it was very clear that they were overdramatizing it to give off the same type of effect that was given in 1970 with reed. so no, i cant. can you?
