    I would think it's just that, a dream ;)

Higgies got two 50 point seasons, and the best is yet to come. They'd have to be pretty desperate to offer up solid prospects for someone considering retirement. I can deal with draft picks.

Are you going to think Sundin a traitor for signing elsewhere (regardless of where)?

And the Ryder's rights is the same boat as Sundin's rights. Realistically there can't be that big a return for the 9 day trading rights of a star player....(not that Ryder is in the same league as Sundin, but you get my drift...).
PS See my edit above re: Bob Mackenzie...one draft pick.

i will not hold anything against sundin, he is my 3rd favourite leaf (that i've seen play (i'm only 26)) of all time behind Clark and Gilmour. I really am hoping he wins a cup wherever he goes and i'll be cheering for that team as soon as the leafs are out (if somehow we find a way to make the playoffs).
Ya i saw your thing about bob saying 1 draft pick is what is normal, but really for the leafs to offer exclusive rights, i think it's atleast a 1st, if not more.

They might not have a first round left ;)

Canes drafted a guy named Michal Jordan yesterday. Only seems fitting, even if he is a 17 year old defenseman from The Czech Republic. That name carries a lot of weight around here.

I'm pretty pleased with our draft from what I have read on their backgrounds. First 2 picks went with scorers. Boychuk compared to Briere. Apparently he is not very big, but lightning quick and very skilled.

A couple of good players traded this weekend: Jokinen, Umberger, Tanguay (I'm happy to see Jokinen out of the SE Division)

The last Staal brother is taken. Apparently he isn't as well thought of as his brothers though. I guess he will take a ribbing at the dinner table after the other 3 all were taken in the top 11 picks in their respective drafts.

Seems the talent pool for the draft was a little higher on average than usual, good for most.
I was actually surprised there were that many trades.
