There is only one answer, and it's Boston. No one is having more fun with better teams than us.

Boston —- Leave it up to Mike Bibby to light the fire with the Boston fans.

The Hawks point guard lit into Celtics fans before practice Tuesday, calling them "bandwagon jumpers."

"They were kind of loud at the beginning," he said. "But a lot of these fans are bandwagon jumpers trying to get on this now. I played here last year, too, and I didn't see three-fourths of them. They're for the team now, and they might get a little rowdy, but that's about it."

When asked if he thought they were fair-weather fans, joining the party only after the Celtics' offseason trades that brought Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to town, Bibby didn't hesitate to pour more gasoline on the fire.

"You could say that," he said. "I remember them having bags on their heads [last season]. It's a different look. I guess that's what happens when you win."

Bibby and Josh Smith were the most noticeable targets of a small section of fans at TD Banknorth Garden on Sunday. The two got into a verbal sparring match with some of the crowd as they left the floor at the end of Game 1.

"It's good that they know I'm here," Bibby said. "It was just a little confrontation to get them involved a little bit. But they are fair-weather fans if you ask me."

If Bibby thought things were sticky Sunday (he shot 2-for-10 from the floor and had just five points and one assist in the Hawks' 23-point loss), they ought to be downright wicked tonight.

"Coming off a 2-for-10 shooting performance, you expect a guy to say something like that," Celtics center Kendrick Perkins said. "We have the best fans in the world, but we don't expect other players to like our fans."

    Garnett's reaction was relatively benign.

"That's Mike Bibby speaking his mind. I wouldn't say it's the smartest comment, but that's Mike Bibby," Garnett said. "I'm not going to get into any comments going back and forth. If I was in my younger days, I probably would have said something, but I learned that you let your play do your talking."

Although the Hawks have yet to sell out Philips Arena for Saturday's Game 3, Perkins is under the impression that the crowd will be bigger than usual in Atlanta.

"It's about time," he said. "It takes us going down there to pack their building out."

OP is probably by stating this century meaning 2000 on.

    Which means NY state has:

1 World Series win in 2000
    0 Stanley Cups
    absolutely nothing in the NBA
    and 1 Super Bowl title

Of course, I like to say the Red Sox are the best team this millenium because that sounds more impressive than century but that's just me.

2001 on - year 2000 is not part of the 21st century - nice try though.

I know that sort of how the millenium started in 2001 because there was no year 0. But try telling that to 99% of america who believed December 31, 1999 was the end of the century and millenium.

The crowd was actually kind of better last regular season as most games where sold out and was the true die hards - hell when your team stinks of course it changes you pespecitve when watching them play. Definately more bandwagon fans at the garden this year - but isn't that the case everywhere when a team changes its fortune? Playoff game Sunday was intense at the garden as I'm at nearly all of them - wonder if there will be more Celtics fans then Hawks fans at Game 3? Atlanta is a piss poor sports town - can't even sell out playoff games - which is true every time the Braves are in the playoffs as well.

And that makes it right? Great logic. If a majority of people think something is correct when it is not - it becomes correct?

it especially changed in Boston once the Red Sox became good around 2003. Hell they even created a name for the bandwagon!

Yep and he is almost ready to bolt Cleveland - though who can blame him. Enjoy the playoffs and the next 2 seasons.

LeBron's great but has he made his teammates better from the defensive end?
then again, alot of the Cavs players are scrubs other than LBJ, the rest are wounded vets like Big Ben and Z...

K.G. just won the defensive player of the year and his contribution showed it.
