I am doing this year's Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in NYC in September.

I am doing this for a friend of mine...39 yrs old..that had double mastectomy last year. :(

    You know, it's coming. Breast cancer is such a sneaky little f*cker. It changes and changes and changes just to be able to find a new place to settle in. It can be gone for 15, 20 years and then come back with a vengance (not sure I spelled that correctly, but if I don't mention it, I will go crazy-ier). Every year, there are new drugs and technologies, so we are really getting close to being able to knock it out (or at least control it). One of the drugs I had (Herceptin) is a "wonder" drug that should work on my specific type of BC. I think that eventually breast cancer will be treated by looking at person's specific cancer using all sorts of genetic subsets. The treatments will be specifically tailored to each person. It might not happen in my lifetime, but hopefully in my son's lifetime.

    i will be doing the american cancer society walk for a cure october 19th with my sister, a 4 year breast cancer survivor. it will be my 3rd consecutive year walk. :cool:

    My elderly Aunt recently survived breast cancer and my friend at work did as well...but back in the seventies, two of my friends lost their mom's. They were in their late thirties when they died of breast cancer.

    I donated, I am "anonymous" and I'm also stupid b/c I misspelled my email address. I immediately sent them an email but I forgot to say that I donated on behalf of you.

    I think this is great what you're doing :)

    My son is 11 now, when he was 9 two of his class mates lost their mums to breast cancer. It was so sad to see those little boys, kids deal with stuff though.
    I'm in for sponsoring a good cause.
