didn't see the whole movie...was she exposed???

I would include a pic but would be banned. But yes, she was exposed like a polaroid.

"The leads are weak? Fuckin' leads are weak? You're Weak! I've Been in this business 15 years"

    "What's your name?"

    "FUCK YOU! THAT"S MY NAME!"
  • I think the love story in Titanic killed what was otherwise a great comedy.

alrighty then...thought you were going schizophrenic on me...don't tread on die hard...it's my altime favorite movie! :D

star wars...love story to make annakin more human before he turns into a killing machine.
Seriously, the dude was MARRIED in the original "Die Hard"....would not have been in Los Angeles if it weren't for the wife...

As to Anakin and Padame.....the kids had to come from some where!!!!
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.

Glad you asked Trixie...yes, it is annoying.
Give me action or violence once in a while, minus the sappy sub-plot.
I will use Fight Club as an example.....we knew there was a sub-plot, albeit sex and raunch, not love. But it worked and didn't suffocate the plot.

I can almost bet a million dollars mookie will come on here and talk about Sam and Alice ruining the Brady Bunch. :p

actually.. if i can interject.. Fight Club is a sort of love story.. the reason he cracks up and presents 2 different personalities and starts this whole thing was because of marla... his love and hate for her.. but i know where you were goin with that one

reallllyyyy....interesting...and see how Chuck didn't mess it all up???
You read the book, didn't you? I need to read it.
I thought he started cracking up before he met her.

Alright, I got one for ya's...if we're going down the John Wayne route, then what about 'RIO BRAVO'. I mean, Angie Dickinson is hot as hell for her time, but she really didn't do much in the whole movie except throw a flower pot out the window.
I love to turn you on

that book changed my whole life.. in every way. you really should check it out.. especially if you like the movie

but yes Chuck does that alot.. he will bring in love but in such a warped way that you would never think its a "love story".. its jsut how i like it...and he was cracking before he met her.. but he cracked fully when she showed up... mmmm marla.. now there's a woman...

but i agree completely.. if you are gonna do a love story do one.. but dont bring love into my cold hard violence...
  • The Crow. The love story they interjected into that film killed a great adaptation of a kick ass comic book.

    "I think we broke her."

Bite your tongue woman! ;) To answer your original question, I only read non-fiction so any love stories involved are unavoidable. As to t.v. I could do with a little less of the Jim/Pam aspect of The Office.
I never liked the jim/pam relationship after they got back together. Way too forced. And he just turned into someone not loveable, I think. At least to me and Pam. :)
She was moving on and he was busy avoiding getting his hair cut.

I just dont like when a love story detracts from the plot.
I guess my real question is for Hemingway fans...did the love story bother you?
Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome

  • I have no problem with love stories if they seem organic and natural...but sometimes it feels like they are just thrown in to add another dimension to the story. I really don't like that.
Agreed... it seems no film is complete these days without the token 'love' story.

    TITANIC

Apparently even alien vs predator (the 2nd most recent one) had one... my housemate was disgusted :D
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
    Chicago 07? And love
    What a different life
Had I not found this love with you

    Really?
I find it to be the characters he plays..you know, them being offbeat, eccentic dudes like in Gilbert Grape, the Aviator and Gangs. He just takes on really good roles, I think. Basketball Diaries.
    ha-ha gilbert. <--lol
He does take on really good roles... and then he goes and ruins the entire film by BEING IN IT

the love story was ridiculous and not necessary in Titanic... I find 'a night to remember' a much more moving and appropriate film. Ya don't need slush to make the sinking of a really big boat killing lotsa people a sad story... especially when the 'characters' involved are the kind who you really HOPE are the first to die anyway.
