All of em, they are all aussies. But you won't want to mess with tim or his brother will get ya, and his cousin plays for the bulldogs in NRL. Plus my mates dad coached tim as a junior, he will go in to battle for him.

  • He is damn talented yes, but if Kaka played outside Italy he would have a bigger star status and respect, altho he is considered a star already, but less so than Ronaldo.

Even Ibrahimovich is in my top3 players in the world right now. Hard to say who really is the best.

It's all about opinion isn't it? Who's to say who's best?!

So many talented guys out there. As mentioned, Kaka & Zlatan. You can add Messi, Rooney, Pirlo, Gerrard etc to the list. But I think Ronaldo has performed at a higher level on a consistent basis than anyone over the past 18 months or so, for club & country.

Had the pleasure of meeting Ronaldo before Christmas, in a bar in Alderley Edge. He was out with Anderson & Nani. Had a nice chat with him, and all 3 signed a match ticket for me.
Luckily, after years of going to the Algarve as a child, I knew how to thank them in Portugues!! Something they appreciated.

Harry Kewell is fantastic, however, he is still trying to gain back the ability he showcased at Leeds, now I'm no United fan but to say that Kewell is better than Ronaldo is beyond ludicrous, Ronaldo is a self obsessed wanker but he backs it up with ability and thats a heavy statement given the size of his ego.

    There's only One Ronaldo!

    And speaking of Harry Kewell:

"On 25 May 2005, Kewell became the only Australian-born player (Craig Johnston was born in South Africa) to win the UEFA Champions League, playing in Liverpool's win over A.C. Milan on penalties. Kewell was controversially selected by Benítez ahead of the defensive midfielder Hamann, signalling the club's intent to attack from the outset. The gamble proved unsuccessful, and an injured Kewell was substituted early in the first half with a torn adductor muscle. Liverpool were losing 1-0 at the time and Kewell was infamously booed off the pitch by Liverpool fans with many suggesting he had faked the injury.

I rate Kewell very highly, he has been hit with injury after injury and he's worked his ass off to get back onto the first squad, he's got a good work ethic and that is worth alot in football today.

his ability warrants the arrogance. Fastest step-overs I've ever seen, and he incorporates this into top-level competition with ease, his goals tally is incredible. His physique verges on the greek-god.

Cristiano Ronaldo - the best player in the world at the moment.

The reason why he did not win the 1st place last year is simply because he plays well against the bad teams (West Ham, Charlton, Bolton, Wigan, Portsmouth, Reading, Sheffield Utd, Aston Villa etc.) Thats great, but if you want to be the best player in the world you have to do the same thing you do against these teams against bigger teams (Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea) and against the big teams in Champions League, hell, just play good against any Champions League team. He played poor against these so called strong teams, and he excelled against the weaker teams in the league.

All this said, he is on a golden path this year. If he stays like this, I can't see why he would not be considered the best player in the world.

PS! Ronaldo doesn't have so much assists anymore, he should try to have more (but I guess if you score it the same thing). Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the only player at the moment that can take honour away from him. (Maybe Cesc Fabregas as well, but I consider him as a good 3rd choice).

Well, yeah. Ronaldo is still fantastic. If plays like this season after season till the day he retires, he will be the best football player in history. The chance of that happening is very small.

Henry had some crazy seasons back in Arsenal were he scored a lot of goals, but it was never year after year. It came and went and came back again. Ronaldo will probarly have some poor seasons as well.

Everybody will expect Ronaldo to do the same thing the next season. Any other thing is a failure or not good enough.

I just recently started watching soccer (we have the fox soccer channel here in America) and I dont even know who the fuck I am watching or what league i am watching (learning), but I can tell you one thing...

I dont like this Rooney character. he just seems like an asshole. Am I right or way off base? Plays for Man United I believe? Are we sure thats not flea of the Chili Peppers out there?

Is man united a traveling all star team? I have watched a few of their games and it seems like they just toy with teams.

To keep thread integrity, Ronaldo needs a haircut. is that the same Ronaldo from Brazil?

1.Rooney can be a hothead at times, but he is a great footballer as well, and yes he play for United.

2.United right now is just peaking at the right time, ie the way they toyed with Aston Villa the other day. Hopefully this will carry over tonight at Roma.

3.It isn't the same Ronaldo. Cristiano is Portuguese, not Brazilian.

    thanks.

Like I said, I really dont know much about soccer at all, but United seems to pass the ball very well. Crisp and clean. That seems to be one of the major differences between American Soccer and European is the passing. Seems very sloppy in the States. Do I sound like a woman talking sports....JUST A JOKE LADIES!

I don't know that it is tiresome for his teammates. The front three (Ronaldo, Rooney, and Tevez) of Man U play extremely well together. Its amazing how they are on the same page at all times with each other. You would think with three players like that, there would be much more conflict between them.
