you should go to a endocrinologist....i'm hypothyroid and everything you've said leads me to believe you might be also.....the average test doctors give to test your thyroid will most likely say your thyroid is normal....see a specialist....:)

really? wow, interesting. they always just eschew it when it comes back normal.

Try charity shops, and jumble/rummage sales. Fuck the snobs. I don't give a damn about wearing second hand clothes. (Okay, I stop at underpants, socks and shoes.) Don't starve yourself to fit into clothes you're not meant to fit into anymore. Be yourself.

Yes I totally agree with cutback - you should follow through with more detailed thyroid testing, esp. since his/her experience seems somewhat similar to yours. The things you describe (being tired after 9/10 hours sleep, being hot when others are cold) sure make it sound like some level of *something* is off, and that its not just your fault for not exercising or eating or something.

I have the opposite problem. not that it keeps me from going out or anything but almost all of my clothes are too big for me cause I've lost 22 pounds since the end of july. not that i'm complaing but I look kinda silly wearing baggy clothes all the time. I don't want to buy new ones yet cause i want to lose some more.

oh well this Thanksgiving I can pig out and not have to worry about my pants getting too tight :)

I wish you luck with finding clothes that fit. I know that i'd be pretty bummed out if my weight was going in the other direction

  • I started working at a lovely food shop and have gained 30 pounds in the last year. I refused to buy new clothes at the start of it all, but I eventually learned to like the added "curves" and decided that instead of fighting the flab, I'd go with the flow and make time (it's only a couple of hours out of your life) for some clothes shopping. Boy was I in for it. I looked everywhere and could not find anything that fit or looked ok on me. Then I saw an episode of "What not to wear" and it hit me....I'm still shopping for the body I used to have. (Praise be to Stacey and Clinton, those annoying fu*!ers) Now I know I can't be shopping in the regular size section of the store, and I've found some kick-ass clothes on the forbidden plus-size rack.
