ok that's good to hear. webmd said many people cannot handle the sweet drink and vomit. since I'm not a fan of sweet things, this concerned me.

my hmo normally only gives the 3 hour glucose tolerance test to preggos but for some reason, they let me have it 10 years ago and I was not pregnant. my blood sugar dropped to 70. they should repeat it since so many in my family have diabetes, shouldn't they?

I gag easily and the orange did not make me ill. Although, when I had an upper GI test and I drank some bubbly stuff, I made an involuntary wretching noise right in the tech's face.

as far as I know, 70 isn't that bad, I think that's like the low end of normal, but I'm no doctor. You can get the tests at anytime really, you just have to ask when you go to the doctor.

ugh they wouldn't give me the test I was expecting. they only took a base and a low, and the low was taken after only two hours.

my base was normal, and I just have this feeling my low will be too. I should be happy, as it would mean I'm not at risk for diabetes. but there is still something wrong with me, and now I don't know what it is...

it doesn't make sense, I fit ALL the symptoms of pcos. even hard to describe feelings are consistent.

that drink was pretty nasty though. I had a hard time getting it down and felt kinda sick thereafter.

Not to freak you out GTD, but I really think you need to do the proper Glucose Tolerance Test over 3 hours with 3 lots of blood collected.

I've had all kinds of sugar tests over the years and my blood sugar was always fine or within range, but it wasn't until they gave me the GTT that they could see that I had Insulin Resistance, which is often caused by PCOS.

I'm not a doctor but my money's on you having pcos too, having read your threads on the symptoms you've been suffering and recognizing many of the symptoms. I wouldn't give up on the pcos just yet, it can be difficult to get a diagnosis. If this test that you've had doesn't clarify it, I'd be insisting on a proper 3 hour, 3 collection GTT and even an ultrasound. You need to know what you're dealing with here and the doctors need to get serious and help you.
    NOPE!!!
