Agreed as an immigrant myself, I absolutely hate immigrants(both legal and illegal) who come here and takes advantage of our system. Love this this country, learn the English language, follow the law and contribute back to the community.

English really isn't that hard, my mother was 31 when we came here and she speaks good enough to buy a car and house with her name; no co-payment at or anything. She got a thick accent but does have good credit and that's all it matters. Funny thing is, people probably understand her better than Southerners. LOL.

And you know,LongRd, I have to say that I am quite defensive when people say things against (in my area the attacks would be of a verbal nature to Hispanics). I only would like to see them adapt our language instead of us adapt theirs. But my ex husband's family had owned a roofing company when my father in law was alive. And when it was really going, there were a lot of white men who did the job alongside the hispanics. But then what happened is the white guys ( I am not making this up), got older, got sick because 90% of the roofers would go drinking in these little dive shot and beer bars, while 90% of the hispanic men went home. SO, the white guys got themselves beaten down from a job that already beats you down.
My point is this......(I almost forgot I did have a point) is that a lot of jobs some Americans complain that the Hispanic people are taking from us, are jobs that the Amercans might not even want. Me included; so I am not being hypocritical.

I respect all people. I only disrespect those who have no respect for others.

Oh yeah I have no problem with those making a hard living. And we can't just blame the immigrants them selves neither, we should also put more blame on the people who are hiring them. I know people who hire them under the table and paying them under the state minimum wage.

It's sad something to see people curse and bitch out the immigrants but then hearing about how they are taken advantaged of is sad as well. :(

I've always felt sorry for the guy who manned the radar station at Pearl Harbor on December 6th & 7th 1941.

In the movie Tora Tora Tora, he is portrayed as a bungling idiot who allowed a whole crapload of enemy planes fly right into the harbor without sounding the alarm.

The little-known truth of the matter is that he was a brand-spanking new radar tower operator who knew little about reading radar signatures.

What's more is that he was told that whenever the radio station plays a certain kind music, it means that a friendly resupply force would flying in the next morning.

I forgot what kind of music it was, but it was playing that night even though that resupply force was not making its way to Pearl Harbor the next morning.

In fact, although he did not sound a general alarm, he did alert his superiors to suspicious radar signatures, and he was told to not worry about it.

Because of the movie Tora Tora Tora, he was hated by a whole generation of Americans who believed he was responsible for the deaths of all those American sailors.

yeah, most people can't. that's why we have health insurance (if we are lucky to).

I am sorry but in all due respect, I don't think anyone should pay $6k for the hospital on something as (usually) routine as having a baby.

But sarcasm and irony do translate on a computer, unless you're situated in certain geographical and cultural take-everything-literally zones. I think George Bush is fighting for the cause of compartmentalising the 'net.

1. Michael Vick is a dick and deserves to pay the penalty for his illegal actions. It is called, 'Justice'.
2. A policy that basically says, Screw our kids because we are too fucking lazy to change our addictive behaviour is probably not the best policy. How about we roll up our sleeves and finally admit that our addiction to fossil fuels is is not a good thing and seek alternative fuel sources and curb our wasteful habits.
3. I agree that P.E.T.A. can be a bit hardcore at times and I don't like some of their tactics... but, sometimes that is what is required to get people's attention. P.E.T.A. has also been instrumental in creating no-kill shelters for cats and dogs that idiot people disgard.

Causes I am currently a part of:
I voluenteer to crew for the local Breast Cancer fund raising. I actually pay the 250 bucks that I would cost the event by donating to Walkers who need to raise upwards of 2,000 dollars to participate. Breast Cancer has taken some of my friends and I will continue to help raise funds for research and education so no one else has to lose a mom, sister, friend, aunt, cousin, co-worker or neighbor.
I am also a member of the SurfRider Foundation since 1990. I believe that we need to take care of our oceans, instead of abusing it.

A cause I would like to see is one where we put our money where our mouth is and actually Support our Troops. Right now, as soon as they are out of uniform, they are treated like shit. If a kid says they are suffering from P.T.S.T... believe them instead of telling them you don't believe it exists. A 'Gratefull Nation' does not treat War Veterans like shit. That is what an Ungrateful Nation does.

wasnt there something at some point about how it was projected that if we were to drill in alaska it would affect the price of oil by less than 1 cent per gallon?

I hadn't heard of that but it could very well be. I just was going by what I had heard before and I just thought it was not very wise to pay our enemies all of that money.

Maybe if we just bought the fucking oil and said, "Gracias, motherfuckers", instead of meddling in their domestic economic/political affairs, they wouldn't be our enemies. I mean, Japan buys Middle Eastern oil... why don't they hate the Japanese? Because the Japanese do not try to change the Middle East.
It would also help if we admitted that Israel makes errors in judgement. Maybe, if we didn't alway jump to Israel's defense when they do fuck up and just said, "Hey, Israel... you fucked up" instead of making excuses for them, we would not have enemies over there.
They don't hate us because of our Freedom.. they hate us because of what we do... not who we are. Change what we do and maybe their view of us will change. Staying this course will insure that things remain the same.
