  • Good info from a boxwine drinker :D

No, that's going to be my punishment in hell. Until then I'm spending ridiculous cash on my wine collection, much to my wife's dismay. Although she doesn't complain when she drinks it.

Wife: "How much did this cost."
Me: "Uhhh....errrrrr.....uhhhhh don't worry about it."

  • Yeah everyone does have a different palet obviously because Yellow Tail is a terrible, rot gut wine.

thanks for proving my point beautifully. :)
i like many different wines in many different price ranges, so price alone to me, and to many, is not a good baramopter of being *great* at all......and yes, i think my palate is just fine. :) you keep spending 'ridiculous cash' on your wine collection...and i'll enjoy a bottle of yellow tail, and other inexpensive wines, with dinner during the week, save the more expensive stuff for special occasions....and just enjoy wine, period.

I love red wine! Get it all the time! (that rhymes :D)
I most recently tried a Cabernet from Australia, it was called [yellow tail]. I think it could be my favorite yet! It's just great!

I've never really had a whole lot of red wine, and I know EV is such a huge fan of it. Any suggestions for a first time buyer on what would be a good one to start out with? Sorry if this has been asked a million times on here...
Nah, not much on drinking wine.

There are plenty good wines in the $7-$12 range, but Yellow Tail is not one of them. There are some cheap, South American malbecs that are very good.

  • I only drink red wine anymore. Beer to fating and the hard stuff to boaring.

aussie shiraz Wishing Tree is my current favorite. I also like the many great but overpriced Pinots from my home of Santa Barbara County.

hmmmmmmmm, it seems well rather obvious to state the obvious, but here goes: taste is subjective.

obviously, if i enjoy something, it pleases me...i think it is *good*. therefore, b/c i enjoy yellow tail shiraz, i think it's good.

this can be said for ANYthing: wine, beer, chocolate, sushi, pasta, art, music, etc, etc. sure there may be *experts* whop say this is 'good' and this is 'bad'....but in all honesty doesn't amount to a thing. all enjoy what they enjoy. some people may enjoy many of the same things, thus why certain things are more popluar/mainstream while others aren't...some things are aquired tastes.....some things rare/pricey that many can't even ever experience, etc.

so again.....to me...yellow tail is good. to you, it is not. and that's all good. however, it annoys me, at best...when one thinks their opinion of something so subjective as taste....is *right*...b/c there is no right in such things. we all enjoy what we enjoy.

that said, i really need to try some SA wines, i keep hearing good things. :) i've tried many cali/italian/aussie wines.....always love to explore more!
