You're welcome.
I'm waiting to see what the next 10 years or so will do with regard to alcohol education and laws.
I think it's on the cards now that the kinds of public education, legislation and debate we now see with smoking will be redirected at drinking soon enough. Should be interesting to watch.
It would be really nice if we could also see this kind of public education and legislation for things like traffic fumes and industrial pollution but I guess that's probably not going to happen.NOPE!!!

robowski wrote:"dude, shut up. the person smoking is hurting themselves so much worse. just gut it out for the seven minutes it takes for him/her to smoke it and then walk away knowing you're healthier than they are. second-hand smoke is the most overrated thing in the world. it won't hurt you. don't listen to those gay "Truth" commercials. only first hand smoke will do anything in the long run. and I'm a non-smoker...but if I was ever standing near you at a show, I'd bum a Virginia Slim Menthol off of some chick and blow the smoke all over your American Eagle shirt so it smells like cigarette smoke when you get home and then your mom will have to wash it for ya"
i knew some of you would respond this way - that outlook is what is wrong with the world - its the lack of respect that you show others! your selfish antagonizing attitude is why Americans will always be seen as pompous assholes whereever they go. You are not entitled to pollute my air space just because you think you can get a rise out of me.
you need to come to grips with reality - you will die and your friends and family will suffer because of your mistake. Thats the point in not smoking next to me at a concert! I don't want to smell that shit after all I have went through watching friends and loved ones die!!!!!!!!!
Do it and you will die because of your stupidity and it will affect others. When you become a burden to others and steal their freedom from no smoke by saying it is your right to do so- you are not practicing free speech! You are forcing people to do something against their will (inhale your smoke) and you my friend are the tyrant, the dictator, and the sole reason that cigarette companies thrive! Continue to support their poison and buy into their lies - let your addiction get the best of you and those who care about you.
As i sat their watching a loved one die - the remorse she felt for smoking and ruining her families lives was unbearable. It filled the room thicker and stronger than any of the cigarettes she smoked over the years. Watch someone slowly die a painful death from this addiction and you will change your tune my friend.
News flash..........non-smokers die everyday!!!!.............You could hit crossing the street tomorrow by someone who is reaching for a cd and doesn't see you.......or in a car wreck.....plane crash.........bank robbery/hostage situation...........etc etc...........0 -

Every media device endorsed it. Celebrities endorsed it. Not only that, but tobacco companies worked their asses off to keep it from the public that it led to horrible consequences. And just in case you missed it the first time, Nicotine is the most addictive substance known to man.
1898:- Tennessee Supreme Court upholds a total ban on cigarettes, ruling they are "not legitimate articles of commerce, being wholly noxious and deleterious to health. Their use is always harmful."
1900:- Washington, Iowa, Tennessee and North Dakota outlaw the sale of cigarettes.
1901:- Strong anti-cigarette activity now exists in 43 of the 45 states.
1909:- Baseball great Honus Wagner orders American Tobacco Company take his picture off their Sweet Caporal cigarette packs, fearing it will lead children to smoke. The resulting shortage makes the Honus Wagner card the most valuable baseball card of all time, currently worth close to $500,000.
1936:- Brown and Williamson introduces Viceroy, the first national brand to feature a filter to counter AMA claims that cigarettes are a major health problem.
1971:- TV cigarette advertising banned in conjunction with Surgeon General warnings that smoking is bad for health.
Then the 80's with all the hype on cigarette safety after the Marlboro Man gets cancer.
So unless you were born in the early 1800's, the info that ciggies were bad for you was out there. You just chose not to listen. Because....oh yeah.....no one is gonna tell YOU what to do!0 -

I got your point. My point was, why increase your chances of dying? It's roughly tied to my other point: why be a condescending ass?Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.0 -

Tell me, how was one supposed to obtain that information? And did any of that have the same evidence we have today? Also, how long did any of that last? Because you can buy cigarettes in every state now, so I guess that didn't work out so well. And those surgeon generals are bullshit. i've seen most of the pack simply say "smoking leads to complications when pregnant" or something like that. And how does banning cigarette ads from tv give someone information on how bad they are for you?0 -

what does it matter what you personally think about that person's view? it doesn't give you the right to resort to childish name-calling. you should respectfully disagree and debate the subject, but there's no need to be petty.0
