My Husband has always been totally freaked out by my love...I mean TOTAL OBSESSION with Pearl Jam...he often has a laugh at my expense, mainly because i go to every single concert they do, i buy everything PJ related and also follow all the side projects/solo projects and go to all the side gigs that the band members do (I'm still hanging for an Australian EV solo tour...i'll keep dreaming!!! )
my Husband always has a shot at me for always being on the computer too. I'm always downloading stuff, watching stuff on You Tube..and i'm forever on this site..so therefore he NEVER gets to use the computer!!! HA HA!!
But y'know he's also used to it!!! there's absolutley nothing he can do or say...I mean i'm even drawing my kids into the fold..(mind you they're only 4 and a half and 2!!!) but i figure they need to learn to appriciate the absolute genius that is my lifelong obsession PEARL JAM!!
i get mocked because after a few drinks i related everything to them. one of my friends actually was trying to give me hell about it to look cool or something like that (hes a country music fan) when we were talking to some girls at a bar, and the pretty one was a huge fan so his plan of mockery blew up in his face. classic moment.

It is a written rule that country music fans cannot mock anyone else's taste in music.
I live with two die hard metal fans so my music taste is a source of great entertainment. Don't get me wrong, I know and love my metal but I have rather more 'eclectic' taste than they and I never hear the end of it
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
No, because I eliminate any person from my life who does not like PJ.
There was this hussy at work who was a non-believer....but she was extremely stupid, thought Nickelback was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I told her to holla at me in 15 years and see where her boys where...not to mention how many times I reminded her their music sucks
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

People who know me - make fun...incessently.
People who just find out always give one of the following responses:
-they are still together? touring?
-i haven't listened to them in years. Ten is one of the greatest albums and VS is OK, but they lost me after that
i don't care! my siblings & i (there's 4 of us) are insane pj fans...it's cwazy. we all always go together, so f everyone else!
It's an art to live with pain...mix the light into grey..
Sure they mock me, but isn't that what friends do? They mock me because I love Pearl Jam and I mock them because of their fanaticism for something else.
mine do, but i really don't care. i love the question "hey how come you like them so much?"
i try not to be mean about it, but i mean what reasons could their possibly be other than, "yeah... i like a lot of their songs."
i guess it could be because matt camerons cute.

I get busted on , but considering the busters take fishing trips lasting a week or more or ride Harley's to Sturgis or take weeks " Down the Shore" , I don't take the busting seriously. They do what they enjoy . So do I. I print them out itineraries so they know "Where's Waldo" and can then call me, collect of course, in Australia or Thunder Bay or Copenhagen or I forget the other two times to tell me my picture is officially on a milk carton or to work overtime when I'm 9000 miles away. Yeah , Sure, I'll be right there.
I just put up my GONE JAMMIN' sign and away I go.
As for my PJ collecting, my family and friends just shake their heads. My mom tells me she thought I'd stop once Keith Moon died and I didn't collect Who stuff like I used to. Not a chance.

my brother is always ragging me for being a great PJ fan. He is a Lynryd Skynrd fan and says PJ sucks because they won't even give there fans a video. I can't make him understand why they don't do video's but I love them just the same. One time on vh1 I saw the INTO THE WILD video and that was the only time. I bought the movie so I could listen to ed all through it. That is good enough for me.

I didn't even realize Lynyrd Skynryd was still around.
They were pretty good in concert- I'll have to see if my H remembers who they toured with.
But yeah- most of my friends ( the ones on the downhill side of 50) think it is pretty hilarious I even like to go out to clubs and listen to live music & hearing that I went to Santa Barbara for a show has them rolling in the aisles.
So what?
You must be the change you want to see in the world

My friends do the exact same thing!! However, deep down I know they are all fans
I will be taking 8 PJ virgins to Camden I, and 1 to DC. I'm sure after that, their mockery will cease.
