You are from nyc and he is from Jersey. Why couldn't you have chosen a place?

Its not like he's never been to NY, Trixie. It's like what Joe said. He should have had a plan already in place. It was the way it was communicated, or the failure to do so. He sounded stupid.

I 'gave it a chance' but then after how it went down yesterday, I was just like oh no.

Yeah, I definitely don't have a problem dating a guy with a kid...I have before.

P.S. As a matter of fact, it's kind of a turn on in a way. :o

Yeah...I think people show you who they are very early on in a relationship...he doesn't sound like a bad guy, but if this is who he is...and it doesn't fit with who you are...it's likely to get on your nerves down the line. It's better to notice it early on. Not to say we shouldn't 'give people a chance' or rule them out too quickly...but no use in trying to force something that's just not a good fit. I'm a planner. I plan everything. A last-minute kind of person just wouldn't be right for me.

I actually spoke to the fella yesterday...he was a bit frantic, and kept saying:

"I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!"

Quite the frantic rabbit, he was!

    not saying bad
    I'm sure you are awesome

for me I want my own children. I want to experience having the first child with a man, like me giving him his 1st child.

to me a scenario with a child already involved has *potential* for drama

no offense intended to anyone with children.

somebody say AMEN. Thank you! Geesh. This is what I'm saying. His tentative ideas only involved a 'drink' which to mean sounded like 'eh, you're ok' but lets see what I can get out of you...

and I don't do that, so, well. And I'm not getting into a strangers' car.

ok y'all are going to make me late for work! Thanks for the positive and supportive responses.

Completely agree with you about not wanting to get in the car ....first dates should be a public place with you both having your own means of getting home! ...............Now mind you if things work out really well and you choose to home together there is nothing wrong with that! ;)
