Traffic Court

No, it definitely won't be Clyburn. He does mostly adminstrative stuff, and his office is in Annapolis. You go to UMBC? So you'll be in the District Court in Catonsville? Call the clerk there (410-512-2500) to see if they'll tell you who the judge will be. There are several female District Court judges in Baltimore County. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!0

I've had at least 10 speeding tickets in five diffierent states over the 30 or so years I've been driving... I've always sent them back not guilty and everyone was reduced or thrown out with a nolle...
Generally speaking on your first visit to traffic court you'll meet the prosecutor who will likely offer you a deal... reduced fine and a charge for less points. TAKE THE DEAL... You don't want to go back and risk getting hammered by the judge...
One ticket I got up in the sticks between Albany and Pittsfield MA I brought my then 2 y/o son for a sympathy factor... I was working two jobs, etc...
It was like a kangaroo court there... The cops were there prosecuting their own tickets... I watch the judge hammer each person who after being offered a deal rejected it and wanted a trial... I changed my plea and paid up then as the others were paying double fines + court costs...
So pay attention to what's happening before you get to your turn...
Best one was I got popped for 85 in a 65 and I was likely doing 100, I questioned the cop, when he caught up with me, why he wrote me a ticket when all my buddies got warnings, etc... After all i was polite, coopperative, and such (and wasn't drunk...) and he said he just wrote them up and let the judge sort them out... So of course I plead not guilty and show up on the appointed day and the prosecutor calls me (an older gentlement in his 60's) and he showed me the ticket... the cop had made a bunch of notes on it, likely the whole how long it took to catch up to me and what I asked him about warnings and such. The prosecutor asked me if I knew what the notes said and I told him I had a pretty good idea... He asked me "then what the hell are you doing here, pleading not guilty?" and I responded "I'm a nice guy, I pay my taxes and I was hoping for a break?"... He and the security sheriff laughed out loud and he told me to go home... (So it does work...)1996: Randall's Island I, Hartford

who are you catwoman? nice username, lol...he does not want a female judge if she's the one from howard county. i understand she works in other counties, part time... she'll make you watch movies (just for speeding) of car accidents like you have to watch in drunk driving school. and i think she gives alot of points, no mercy not even on cute, young guys.9/98, 9/00 - DC, 4/03 - Pitt., 7/03 - Bristow, 10/04 - Reading, 10/05 - Philly, 5/06 - DC, 6/06 - Pitt., 6/08 - Va Beach, 6/08 - DC, 5/10 - Bristow, 10/13 B'more

Be some kind of interesting deterrant.
"The court finds the defendant guilty of speeding 30 miles over the speed limit and sentences him to eat 30 PBJ sammiches under the supervision of a court appointed officer every day for the next 30 days. Court is adjourned!!"NOPE!!!

I think everybody, everywhere should plead not guilty for all traffic offenses till the dumb ass government lightens up on the fines and points, if everybody plead not guilty they would have to lighten up or the courts would surely be clogged solid.I have certain rules I live by ... My First Rule ... I don't believe anything the government tells me ... George Carlin
