Mega Man 9 (2008)

So I've just read in a magazine about the Nintendo Wii releasing this on WiiWare soon (aiming for September). Am I excited? Fuck yes I am. It's NES style all the way--graphics, music, level design, enemies, traps, Dr. Wily...
BUT....and this is a BIG sexist but...they've added a woman as one of the eight robot masters.... LAME!!! Why after all these years (20+) do they have to change that? And it's so bad because it's seven men, and one woman. That is a sore thumb and seriously is making me think twice about this game. Stupid I know. I know they're gonna make her the most difficult to beat aslo which is really stupid since she's Splash Woman. That doesn't even sound right saying that in regards to Mega Man. Is there gonna be a Mega Woman playable character? God I hope not.
Other than that it looks good, but that little change is bugging me a lot.

thats sweet! ive been saying forever they need to release more old school side scrolling games... this new technology is getting to be a lil much for someone like me, raised on the NES and SNES
i dont have a wii yet but ill probably get one once theyre super cheap... especially if a new zelda game is announced for it (which in general is the only reason i keep buying the newest nintendo systems)0 -
i picked up the anniversary disc for ps2....what, 2 years ago? i used to play the shit out of my original nintendo mega man games. i loved them. i can't wait for this one to come out. thanks for posting this, i wouldn't have known otherwise."Have you ever.........pooped a balloon?"

I played the hell out of Mega Man 2,3, and 4. They were the greatest games ever. Ah to be young again.

The Mega Man games were amazing to play. I think my favorite was 7 for the SNES.
Some enemies throughout the series pissed me off so bad though, haha. Toad Man? God damnit, what lame ass tough enemy is that?Happiness is only real when shared0 -

There is Roll, but she's just some damsel in distress type so it doesn't bother me.
I bet it's game over for Splash Woman when she breaks a nail.gobrowns19 wrote:The Mega Man games were amazing to play. I think my favorite was 7 for the SNES.

i loved it, until one of my kids scratched the hell out of it. it had all the original games on it, plus some of those "megaman x" games. i didn't get into the "x" ones, but all the other ones were the exact games, just on playstation instead of nintendo. all the same graphics, all the same characters, all the same levels, all the same music. it was fantastic.

Nintendo really know how to beat a dead horse. They need to come up with something new instead of Mario / Zelda ect ect.Dublin 2006

i see nothing wrong with perfecting a series instead of debuting a bunch of half-assed games like playstation always does...0
