It's not really a battle when I've been right every step of the way so far.

Oh, a little pissed off when you're wrong I see. Just like when you were wrong about the system restore thing. Why don't you stop sticking your nose in to things when it's apparent that you have no idea what you're talking about.
I was here before you. Giving the guy advice until you came and basically said 'oh forget about what everyone else before me has told you.'

But the fact is, system restore is not meant to be for getting rid of malware. And there's a reason for that; because it doesn't really work.

Maybe people will understand why I don't like computers now.... I was just simply trying to help a guy out.

It's not really a fight. Just a debate. Apart from one guy in the debate has a monkey wrench shoved up his ass. ;)
What the fuck is this world?

But apparently it worked this time, didn't it?

Like I said, I've been seeing this exact thing for the past month and that's the fix that works. Will it work for all spyware....No. But apparently for this one it did.

Yes, aparantly. But as I've previously said, I was trying to help the TS secure there computer so it doesn't happen again.

Also, I wouldn't be suprised if the spyware came running back in a few days; because it hasn't been dealt with properly.

It's just that people shouldn't say shit unless they know what they are talking about. If she thinks that going in to Add/Remove Programs is the same thing as editing your registry than that's a problem. If she was talking about 2 different things that's a different story.
Granted I may have the terminology wrong...my husband is the computer geek around here (DBSA, MCSE, etc etc etc) so he usually does it. But I know those are the things he has me routinely do to clean out my computer. He also does other stuff that I don't know how to do.

It looks like she meant that in Spyware Doctor you go into My Computer-Add/Remove. That would probably be the registry.

Because no normal computer has Add/Remove programs in the 'My Computer' directory.

    ummmm actually WRONG!

Go to my computer. On the left hand side under system tasks it says "ADD/REMOVE" click that and wallah......your programs are all listed and can be managed.

You can also get there from your control panel. It all depends on what system you are running.

That's funny, because if I go to My Computer in Windows XP I see Add/Remove Programs in the upper left hand corner under System Tasks.

    I guess I don't have a "normal" computer.
