Yeah but I'm learning from the different opinions.
How you get everything cleaned up blad.
I've downloaded ZoneAlarm, the Firefox add-on thingie and I'm about to get something else... I'll let you know what it is when I find out... oh and I've done a system restore. Seemed to work like a beaut. Or is that bute? Or bewt, like 'newt'?'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

Because no normal computer has Add/Remove programs in the 'My Computer' directory.harmless_little_f*** wrote:I've downloaded ZoneAlarm, the Firefox add-on thingie and I'm about to get something else... And did you get Spybot? It's worth having trust me.
I dislike computers more and more everyday, yet I still use them a lot. I need to break this habit. What the fuck is this world?0 -

Okay. But don't be suprised if the spyware comes running back in a day or two.

pretty much whats been said already is the fixer, except the registry edit - that stuff ye don't wanna mess around with.
Be careful with what yer doownloading, and what sites yer visiting. Some spyware is very tricky to get rid of. To some people, the spyware appears as an anti-virus and if yer not aware, can make the situation a lot worse.
Let me know if ye still have a problem, I'll fix it for you0 -

That's funny, because if I go to My Computer in Windows XP I see Add/Remove Programs in the upper left hand corner under System Tasks.
I guess I don't have a "normal" computer.0 -

nobody has a normal computer - each person has theirs set up differently.
Anyway, to settle the argument -
start - control panel - add/remove programs. there may be a shortcut to this in other windows, such as the 'my computer' window.
...unless yer using vista or mac - then its a complete different kettle of fish!0 -

Oh, a little pissed off when you're wrong I see. Just like when you were wrong about the system restore thing. Why don't you stop sticking your nose in to things when it's apparent that you have no idea what you're talking about.0 -

But the fact is, system restore is not meant to be for getting rid of malware. And there's a reason for that; because it doesn't really work.
Maybe people will understand why I don't like computers now.... I was just simply trying to help a guy out.cutback wrote::eek:

But apparently it worked this time, didn't it?
Like I said, I've been seeing this exact thing for the past month and that's the fix that works. Will it work for all spyware....No. But apparently for this one it did.0 -

Also, I wouldn't be suprised if the spyware came running back in a few days; because it hasn't been dealt with properly. What the fuck is this world?0 -

Go to my computer. On the left hand side under system tasks it says "ADD/REMOVE" click that and wallah......your programs are all listed and can be managed.
You can also get there from your control panel. It all depends on what system you are running.
