It's hebrew. The transliterated form is "tohu va vohu". It refers to the world, pre-creation, in the book of Genesis. I'm not religious but I have my own understanding of it.

ok... let me elaborate on my idea from my last post...

heres the skull (meaningful to me in a number of ways: first concert, first poster, hometown, reminds me of hamlet)
    http://www.expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/1733

but in this more ornate style with the flowers on either side:
    http://www.melcombeprimary.co.uk/News/Autumn_2007_Diary/Entries/2007/10/19_Year_6G’s_International_Week_files/Day20of20the20Dead20Skull20with20Hands.jpg

any suggestions / thoughts? good tattoo places in the chicagoland area? specific artists?

i like the second one. the colors are great. it looks as though it may translate better into a tattoo. but, the tattoo artist may be able to work something fantastic out for the first one.
yes...i do feel like a human. i do not feel like a tree.

It is and yes it does. Well, that part itself means "without form and chaotic" but it does refer to the world pre-creation.

I'm not religious but aside from GY!BE being my favourite band, I love the idea that every day can be something new. I try not to worry about ordering my life and shit because I know I can start again from scratch.

Is that Night owl I see in the middle of your back?

Eurgh! No, I had it doen when I was 17, it's like a demon head/dracula type thing. I hate it and it's being covered asap!

I could only see the top in that pic, but you could totally turn it into Night Owl from Watchmen and it'd be awesome.

I don't have pictures of them at the moment but I have two tattoos.

The first is 3 little black stars on the lower side of my right forearm just below my elbow. This is now the most unoriginal tattoo in the world in seems....I still like mine, though now people ask me if it means I'm in a cult....

The second is the rebel alliance logo from the Star Wars movies just below my left shoulder :)
