I dont like it. Its a baseball stadium. A historic one nonetheless. Lets have the final game played there a baseball game.

Besides, who gives a rats ass about hockey? :)

If I wasn't such a raging alcoholic I would try and get to this. Sounds like a blast! Players loved it in Buffalo last year, as did fans. That would be awesome to see!!!

The only blasphemous aspect of this is that it won't be against the Islanders.

Jim Carr: Hi, Jim Carr again. Denis, I know that some in our audience don't know the finer points of hockey. Could you tell them, for example, what is icing?
Denis Lemieux: Well, um, icing happen when the puck come down, bang you know, before the other guys you know. Nobody there, you know. My arm go comes up then the game stop then start up.
Jim Carr: I see. What is high-sticking?
Denis Lemieux: High-sticking happen when the guy take the stick, you know, and he go like that
    [high-sticks Jim Carr]
Denis Lemieux: you know. You don't do that.
Jim Carr: You don't do that?
Denis Lemieux: Oh no, never, never.
    Jim Carr: Why not?
Denis Lemieux: Against the rules. You know, you're stupid when you do that. Just some English pig with no brains, you know.
Jim Carr: Uh, what is slashing?
Denis Lemieux: Slashing is um, like that
    [demonstrates on Jim Carr]
    Denis Lemieux: you know.
Jim Carr: Mm-hmm. And there's a penalty for that?
Denis Lemieux: Yeah and for the trip also, you know like that
    [demonstrates]
Denis Lemieux: . And for hook like this
    [demonstrates]
Denis Lemieux: . And for spear, you know, like that.
    [demonstrates]
Denis Lemieux: You do that, you go to the box, you know. Two minutes, by yourself, you know and you feel shame, you know. And then you get free.

laugh if you want you fat kid in a chocolate store, but you know as well as me that an outdoor game in NY should feature the Rangers vs. the Islanders.

Hockey should never be played in a baseball stadium, unless its some half assed stadium in california or something. then, who gives a shit.

the last sporting event played in historic yankee stadium is going to be a professional hockey game?

say that out loud a few times. maybe the absurdity will sink in. its the fact that its the LAST game.

Yankees make the series, hit a walk offf home run in game 7 againt the mets, become world champions, and then the last game played on that historic site is a fucking hockey game?

    For real?

hahahaha hockey is far more boring IMO! what the purpose of watching a puck continously go up and down the ice with it going in the net 1 or 2 times out of 20. too many pointless rules.....

as opposed to 20 throws over to 1st base to waste time when the guy is gonna steal anyway? lol

and the catcher walks to the mound,,then the coach,,then the manager zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

offsides, two line pass, off sides, behind the net, icing, face off, start up the ice, off sides, bad pass, icing, face off, back the other way, repeat. yada yada yada.

maybe 2 or 3 of 50-60 make their way. BORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIng!

the average game time for a regular season game was 2:50 minutes.

oh! another reason why hockey sucks, SHOOTOUTS! what a demoralizing way to end a game. OT till someone scores would be far more entertaining.

I will never understand that argument. I paid to be there....take 9 hours. besides, if its something you like to do (watch a game), why would you want it to go by faster? people say the same about football...lets speed it up. why?
