sounds good enough "for me" but will have to see what the more important wifey thinks of course ;)

how much and where did ya get ya flights from aswell if ya can remember?

We went via Miami so the price will obviously be a bit more but we booked them through Opodo, was the cheapest we could find at the time about £300 each.
    Astoria 20/04/06, Leeds 25/08/06, Prague 22/09/06, Wembley 18/06/07,
    Dusseldorf 21/06/07, Manchester 17/08/09, London 18/08/09, LA 06/10/09, LA 07/10/09.

Ain't gonna be any middle anymore.

what's the easiest way to get from laguardia to msg/the new yorker hotel?

Easiest is by cab. More sensible is take M60 bus right outside baggage claim and then at Broadway and 116th street Subway train number one downtown to MSG. Count on about an hour and a half.

No a REAL hotel, they just have offers on now and again where if you book well in advance ya get them dirt cheap, you have to pay in advance and if you cancel or cant make it theres NO WAY you will get any refund whatsoever, but its definitely worth bearing in mind if you ever go back there ;):)

anyway, im already fretting about hotels in NY and i aint even got tickets for the shows yet!! May aswell save the hotel searching until after tomorrow at least hey?

ahah... "you may wonder why we chose to not put toiletries in the bathroom. Well, that's in order to cut costs, and we figured people would take them with anyway" "you may wonder why we chose to put only a towel in the bathroom. That's in order to cut costs" "you may wonder why the phone has no direct connection to the lobby, well, that's so we can save on the staff and pass the savings on to you".

That travelodge was a fucking dump.

There are two hostels by where I live in NYC. Morningside Inn and Westside Inn. I have never been inside. They look nice from outside (especially the first one) and I can absolutely vouch for the safety of the area (107th and Broadway) and ease of access to MSG (about 30 minutes by subway train number 1). Plus, you'd be two blocks from Tom Restaurant of Seinfeld and 9 from Columbia University.

I think they are both under 100 bucks per night.

My thoughts exactly, I was thinking about it but it would just work out far to expensive. Now if they announce a Seattle date that would be different.
I don't see what the big deal is with MSG anyway.

yeah, i know it makes way more sense to just wait til something a bit closer to home comes along, i could probably do abouot 5 shows in europe for the same money to be spent on 4 nights in NY, that's it the decision is made! i can now return to a normal life instead of worrying constantly about everything that goes with this trip ;):)

When I was in NY I slept at the YMCA :D in Harlem (135th Street) and in some motel in Queens (near Jackson Heights, I think).

I think the YMCA was $80/night and the sleazy motel was $55/night.

You're in Manhattan in a heartbeat. Seriously, everything's so easy to get to in NY. At least, that was my experience.

Quite frankly the Susquehanna(Tweeter or E Center) is right in Camden, New Jersey and most understand how dodgy that area is..just take the direct route out of the area after the show in nyc and you'll be fine.

    NYC is expensive.
    period.

there really is no such thing as *cheap* in NYC...and if you find it, there's a reason for it. nuff said.

You'll have shitty parts of any major city, anywhere, really. That being said, MSG is in the middle of everything in downtown Manhattan........generally a safe area.

I think you have it a little mixed up! Camden is across the Delaware from Philly, but about 2 hours from NYC.
