CRAIG BIGGIO !!!!!!!

WRITE IT DOWN .......After much consideration to ALL the greats , but the 1 guy I would start my franchise with is fucking Craig Biggio....Hes a gamer, hes a sparkplug, he gave 120 % everyday, and was always the inspiration to the young guys. ANyway you slice it, Biggio gets my vote!!

Its not all about HRS, or RBIS, sometimes you gotta give heart and effort the green light.

Mays,Ruth, Williams, Dimaggio and countless others too many to consider
  • add this to Biggio's HOF Plaque:

He was the first player ever drafted by The Fighting Hellfish in 1998. In 10 seasons since, 2 leagues, I've drafted hundreds of guys, but Biggio will always be my first

My brother played against him in HS Football in the early 80's

  • It's gotta be Babe Ruth. In addition to practically inventing the HR, he was also a great pitcher

yeah he's totally the best. Even in basketball you can't unanimously say Michael Jordan is the best because the positions of guard and center are so different. he can't be compared fairly to Wilt Chamberlain. football is even harder. but Babe Ruth, without any question, is the greatest baseball player ever.

I think Babe Ruth is the greatest professional athlete ever in regards to his skill compared to his contemporaries, but I'd take Mays over Ruth myself.

plus, how many of Babe's HR's were ground rule doubles? which used to count as an HR, I think I read in the range of maybe 30 at most.

This conversation should begin and end with George Herman Ruth. No one is even close.

The only knock against the Babe is the fact that MLB didn't allow "Negro" baseball players.

But c'mon. A 20 game winner and he outhomered the league one year. This guy was the best ever.

Also coming from a Red Sox fan.

This wasn't the "Which player kicks the most as of all time" thread. If it was Pudge would be the only one getting votes I'm sure.
