Ah, the 90s for me was filled with beer, vandalism, and the never ending quest to pick up chicks (very unsuccessful)....kind of like Beavis and Butthead in real life.

I vaguely remember the 80's and people tell me I rocked the 90's like no tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and does anybody remember Child World? Right before it went bankrupt it released a promotional video with a ton of late 80s/early 90s toy commercials. I'll find the link when I get home.
Growing up in the 80s and 90s was cool. :D

McRib - A sandwich featuring boneless pork smothered in barbecue sauce, diced onions, and pickles. Created in 1981, but later pulled from menu. Released annually in the US as a limited time promotion. Since 2005, the McRib has reappeared in late October and stays on the menu for one month. This limited time marketing stategy was parodied on The Simpsons, with the "Krusty Burger Ribwich". The McRib was recently released in Canada as a promotional sandwich from March 18 through April 8th, 2008. The McRib is presently on some European menus, e.g. Germany.

Can someone please tell me, did Mr. Rogers ever retire? And who was responsible for canceling Muppet Babies..

This thread is useless without pictures..

Fred Rogers died in February 2003. The last episodes of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood aired in 2001.

A couple interesting facts about Mr. Rogers:

In February 1990, Rogers' car was stolen while he was taking care of his grandson. The thief apparently realized who the car belonged to after seeing papers and props Rogers had left in the car. The car was returned to Rogers, who found it sitting in front of his home about a day later. The only thing missing from the car was Rogers' director's chair. Rogers' car at the time was an Oldsmobile sedan.

For the 91-92 season NHL teams named honorary captains for the league's 75th season. The Pittsburgh Penguins named Mr. Rogers as an honorary captain for that season and gave him a sweater (like the ones he would always wear on the show) with a captain's C on the chest.

Does anyone remember when that terrible movie Full Monty was released?
And they released Full Monty chips?? They were so awesome. I don't know what flavour they were but they were great.

  • here's a great list of 80s crap.

    my favorites:
"You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons "
"You got super-excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school"
    "You remember Hypercolor T-shirts"

I saw a girl (in her 20's) dressed up as Rainbow Brite this past Hallowe'en - my friends and I were so excited when we saw her, and she was excited someone actually knew what she was dressed up as!

I also recently learned that Dennis Lee (children's poet) wrote the lyrics to the theme song to Fraggle Rock :)

The Great Canadian TV show of the '80's (and early 90's, and the new millenium since it's reinception). Think of it as a much more realistic version of the original 90210....

I still smile everytime I go past Degrassi St on the streetcar here in Toronto. I keep meaning to take a walk up the street to see if the high school/jr high is still there....

Cool, there should be more shows about this age........I like shows about teens more than ones about adults. Most of them exaggerate things a bit but some are pretty accurate. Friday Night Lights and Life As We Know It (if you havent seen it, watch it now because it is incredible) are my favorite of the teen dramas. Dawsons Creek had the right idea but it is a bit ridiculous.

    Never had one....sounds McGross!!
There are three types of people in this world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder what happened.

We do not inherit the earth from our parents. We borrow it from our children.
