for my dad's last bday, someone bought him a box of candy from the 50's, when he grew up. it was so cool, and my dad was all nostaligic.
There was an order form in there for every decade. Dad's had some nasty shit in there i've never heard of, and some stuff that's still around now, like pixie stix, wax lips, wax bottles, necco wafers, etc."Find myself singing the same songs every day....

lol i was just thinking that!
as far as 90's, we could get into music, but growing up in the 80s it was all about food.
and video games. Atari...that was my parents' toy. i was allowed to play with it once in a while!"Find myself singing the same songs every day....

no shit?
I think they closed down all the ones here on long island back in the early 90s."Find myself singing the same songs every day....

How about the toys from the 80's? (The only thing good about that decade IMO).
My favorite toys were the Transformers. I was upset when they killed off Optimus Prime in the movie (the animated one from 86, not the recent version). I also had a lot of GI Joe figures and vehicles.0 -

not here, they're not!
the commercials that we get here that piss me off are the Sonic commercials. I don't think there's a single Sonic in NY. And all that shit they advertise looks sooooo good.
I went to one once in SC, and their frozen coffee drinks are amazing. Dunno why there's none here."Find myself singing the same songs every day....

My closet consisted almost entirely of long-sleeved flannel shirts, jeans, and those Vans shoes that had the super thick laces.
I had a cassette tape walkman.
My wetsuit was a collage of fluorescent colors.
Cigarettes were $2.25 a pack. Generics were $1.30. I don't smoke anymore, however.
Gas was cheap, cheap, cheap.
Gangstah rap was actually worth listening to.
I would actually buy guitar magazines for the guitar tablature. This was before giventowail.com or even the internet came to be.
Vehicles still came in stick shift models.
Men with erectile dysfunction were getting penis implants which did more harm than good.0 -

Ghostbusters and Ninja Turtles were my favorites I think

Definitely........I liked when they had all the ball pits, tubes, and slides. Now its strictly games for tickets....
Bart: Okay what can I get for twelve, count em, twelve prize tickets?
Pimple Faced Kid: Two thumb tacks and a Moustache Comb. Or five rubber bands and an icecube.
Nelson: What can I get for eight thousand tickets?
Pimple Faced Kid: A B.B Gun or an Easy Bake Oven.
Nelson: Hmm.. hot food is tempting, but I just can't say no to a weapon.
Lisa: So what prize did you end up getting?
Bart: Moustache comb, what did you get?
Lisa: Fake moustache.... wanna comb it?Alpine Valley 2000

I agree with you on that one. I see sonic commercials every 20 minutes. I just checked their locator service and there is 6 in my state, and none within a half hour drive of Portland.NERDS!0 -
