Physical therapy aide........the people I worked for were such high strung assholes and they treated us like idiots because we did not have as much education as them yet.

Gap employee.........when I was in high school I applied at basically every store in the local mall and unfortunately this was the only one to call me back and it was one of the stores I would least want to work at. I was only a seasonal employee during the Christmas season so I the store was nuts and filled with foreigners that didnt speak any english. The store would get trashed and I sucked at folding.

Golf course maintenance........working in all sorts of shit weather conditions, dealing with mosquitos, doing back breaking work for about the least amount of money they could pay

-picked tobacco & other crops in a field
-worked in a factory loading boxes of t shirts and moving boxes around
-worked in another facotry in the wharehouse loading trucks with boxes
-worked the front desk of a dormitory check in
-worked as a tour guide and displayed artwork in a museum
-worked customer service for a insurance company
-worked as a retail sales person selling cell phones
-worked as a recruiter for a 3rd party engineering firm

Okay i'm like 30 and those are all the jobs i've had. As for the worst of the three:

    1. Working in the field in South Carolina picking tobacco and other crops. Jesus Christ that is a hard job in the 100 degree heat and high humidity.
    2. Loading trucks in a factory wharehouse. Again summer work it is hot as hell and that assembly line keeps spitting boxes and you have to keep stacking them and tehy are heavy as shit.
    3. Retail sales. It just sucked having to put up with people and all their BS and sales goals that were not realistic etc.

Y: december, cold, wet, harder than you think to put a tree on top of big SUV's, christmas spirit was nowhere to be found

    3) clean-up crew after a big luau
Y: grease, baby oil is hard to get off marble floors, i can still smell the ammonia

    mmm, college.

does community service count??? had that a few times as a kid. but even so i never even had a good job.

worked in a produce warehouse....lifting boxes all day having rotten jucie dripping out of the boxes, sorting through that crap. i have good reason for not eating fruits.... then the janitor quit so they asked if id do it, since i helped the guy when i wasnt busy else where. it was nearly $3 more an hour. i said no, i ended up getting the job anyways, and since i didnt apply for it i didnt get the pay increase. one day i said im not the janitor and im not getting paid for it, when they tried to assign me that crap for the day. i was not so kindly told "if you dont wanna work you can go home."

so the next job i got was at a foundry.....you think its hot outside at 100. we had windows opened in the middle of winter cause it got that hot. i didnt need ac at home or in the car after coming home from work. anything below 90 was considered cool, haha.

i didnt mind the foundry it was hard and hot work. but i stayed at that produce place way longer than i should have.

    1. My first job was a dishwasher in a college dining common. We served 1500 people per meal. The first day of my job, I was in the pot room and I put on a glove to wash these enormous pots and sheet pans, and when I took off the glove, someone's used band aid was around my ring finger.

    2. I worked at a bank. People are very nasty when it comes to their money.

    3. I am now an attorney, and it sucks worst of all of my jobs. Sure, I make money, but I regularly wake up in the middle of the night in terror because of work.

Thinking about my cases. It's hard to explain, but I know a lot of attorneys and most of them have trouble sleeping. You constantly worry.

Yeah I held most of those when i was too young to work (working in the field) legally or summer jobs in HS and through college.

Hard work can make any one appreciate life a bit more and is good motivation to go to college.

I've enjoyed my time as a recruiter/account manager since graduating.

  • 1. dunkin donuts...one of my very first jobs, if not the first. hated it so much i only lasted a day, haha. the place was so gross, don't get a breakfast sandwich there please.

    2. cleary cleaners...i tagged clothing to get sent off to be dry cleaned. people always complained if their crap didn't come back looking brand new. i'm sorry that your already ripped apart sweater, is still ripped apart, and the already stained and ruined pants, still look like ass.

    3. carmen's restaurant...poorly run, i had to host, serve, bus, and run food...alone...even though there were people hired for those jobs. oh, and our main cook was rumored to have murdered someone. nice guy to have in a kitchen around a bunch of knives.
i've been in my mind, it's such a fine line...

  • 1. Windshiled wiper inspecter-- summer job during college, pick up a wiper look at it, but in another box -- that was it, all day in a hot ass factory, standing the entire time....that sucked.

    2. Telemarketing .... even though it was for a charity ... it still blew.

    3. Dishwasher in college dorm cafe...I lasted one shift.

I'm only on my third job.....

But my worst of the three was as a Pharmacy Tech. Dealing with insurance companies and doctor's offices over the phone sucked. Also Medicaid people are mostly all ungrateful for anything. It lasted about a month.

Ha! I tried the UPS thing and lasted about two weeks too. It was the holiday season and I had a conveyer belt in front of me moving at a good pace with all sizes and weights of crap that I was supposed to fit - perfectly and completely - into his enormous fucking trailer. All in like 1 1/2 hours. It was insane. I just couldn't keep up. I'm not the strongest guy in the world and my back broke down quick. The pay was great for a college student but I just didn't have it in me. My hat's off to whoever has worked at UPS.

No, it sucked. I had to unpack the ballon, blow it up, chase the owner by radio through the back roads of CT during the summer. The trees blocked my view, so he would say "David...I'm headed North by North west on a heading of 21." what the fuck...is that route 67? His name was Thadious Burr, if thats not a hot air ballon guys name, I don't know what is. Then he would tell me to tell the owners of a house that he was going to "land" in their back yard. Well after they bitch at me about how they don't want him crashing in their back yard, he gets caught up in a huge oak tree. And guess who has to rap that shit back up.....me....and for a grand total of 40$ for a days work.
