    Another thing to do on Van Isle is drive from Shawnigan Lake to Cape Scott on active logging roads! That's pretty scary shit - but wow do you see lots of cool things...

    This place is beautiful...we got a pair of eagles up the road (with a baby in the nest), deer everywhere, raccoons, occasionally you get lucky and see a cougar...Just a couple of weeks ago hubby and I were driving between Courtenay and Nanaimo and we saw a HUGE black bear at the side of the highway, lumbering through the grass...So cool!!

    Too often we take this place for granted...
    ahhhh! between courtney and nanaimo... is where qualicum beach is :D and i loooove it! i love seeing the random wildlife too!

    one time we drove to tasis on a logging road, that WAS scary shit!
