    I don't think Ripken's iron man streak will ever be broken. Not sure who's closest at the moment, but they are far far away.

    I agree with Joe D.'s hitting streak, but i would not be surprised if Williams' average (.401, I believe) is broken.

    Cal's streak, and Favre's streak by a QB, or any position in football for that matter.

    Montreal Canadiens' 5 Cups in a row;
    Habs 76-77 season - 8 losses in an 80 game season.
  • Johnny Vander Meers record of 2 consecutive no-hitters will never ever be broken.

    For the record (no pun intended), Ted Williams is just the last guy to bat .400, but that is not the record. Nap Lajoie batted .426 in 1901.

    How about Orel Hersheiser's consecutive scoreless innings?

    favre's streak is truly unbelievable. if it was written in a book of fiction or seen in film, it would be considered over the top drama...but it's real! nothing short of amazing, and it would be difficult to think of how anyone could even come close. same with cal.

    I think Hack Wilson's 191 rbis in 1930 is pretty safe as is Walter Johnson's 110 shutouts and year Wilt averaged 50.4 points per game.

    the womens 100metres record may never be broken, it was set in the 80's.
  • Martin Brodeur will soon pass Patrick Roy for alltime wins at 551. He also has a really good chance of passing Terry Sawchuks's shutout record of 103. Brodeur is now at 98. Once these 2 records are set I really doubt they will be broken.
