Dude, you just like to interpret things your own way.
I am obviously disappointed the Pats lost, how that translates into me getting "bitch slapped" is something I guess I'd need to spark up to comprehend.
Ihand it to the Giants, played a superior game on the biggest stage, and completed the most mriaculous play in NFL history.
I however do not "distance" myself from the team, and will be rooting for them come September...when they will be favored to win the title again (currently 2-1 in Vegas, Colts are next at 6-1)

Enjoy the victory (though its humorous as you have stated you are not a Giants fan, yet are acting like you are a 60 yr season tix holder).
I think the Pats have a better shot at getting to SB XLIII than the G-men, this loss sucked but the team still has some years left in its current contending run, we shall see in the fall.

Pats had a better shot at winning superbowl XLII too. :) That didnt happen and neither will XLIII.

Jags vs. Giants next year. Jags sign Moss this offseason and run away with it for fun (until they get bitch slapped like patriot fans by the GIANTS).

At least that makes a bit of sense.
Believe me, the Pats' loss didn't affect my life in any way except for a few minutes of disappointment at the game, and a few hours of "what ifs" after (what if Samuel catches the easy pick, what if Eli is ruled sacked as his progress was stopped, what if Tyree didn't seem to have crazy glue on his helmet)...after that, I'm over it...congrats to the Giants and their fans, lets go Celts, spring training is in a couple weeks and we'll see the Pats start another run towards the title in July.

I think the Pats and Colts are still the teams to beat in the AFC, Jags will be contenders for sure, NFC watch out for the Vikes to be up and comers (assuming they get some QB improvement) cause Peterson is a stud, the Giants will be in the mix, but will find its hard to repeat.

  • My sister (a Giants fan) works at Wellesley College up near Boston. I talked to her today about the "day after". All the Bawston fans apparently forgot about the ONE GIANT LOSS, and still think it's October because all they did was talk about the Red Sawks.

Oh well, pitchers and catchers in 9 days. New baseball season :D

I have no problem talking about the game, I'm happy to analyze it and go over it and I've already congratulated the Giants. But you don't want to talk about the game, you just want to attempt to make me and others feel bad about the loss. It may work with others, not with me friend.
Now if you want to discuss that unbelievable play that basically sent the Giants to victory, lets have at it. As I stated earlier, start to finish it has to be the greatest play in NFL history considering when it happened. Eli's escape and the subsequent catch by Tyree were a thing of athletic marvel.

  • I do enjoy the way a lot of Pats fans call this a fluke yet their 2002 run through the playoffs was a piece of coaching mastery. The 2002 win vs. the Rams was the perfect game plan and it wasn't a fluke. Yet when it happened to them 6 years later it was everything from the red hoodie to Brady's ankle.

There are very few giving the Giants credit.

I'm just glad the smugness is starting to wash away. The best was the Super Bowl party I was at was filled with Pats fans. The silence at the end of the game was golden after 6 months of 'the best team ever' talk.

I'm not a Giants fan nor do I have any love for NY teams but I was glad to see them win to shut the Pats up. I guess I agree with most of the country.

It was nice to give Pats fans shit after they shit all over my Dolphins this year.

nah....that's just me, snuffling in my box of tissues..... :D I actually have a cold, had it before the game. I had scheduled yesterday as a vacation day (I do every year regardless of who's in the game) so I wallowed in the Pats loss whilst wallowing in my tissues.

  • Let's face it...

Not only did the Pats lose a SB that they thought would be a lopsided score in their favor, but now their team is facing a potential Congressional investigation regarding videotaping the Rams walk through before the 2002 SB.

A walk through that is open to the press, no team puts their game plan on display.
And doesn't Congress have more important things to deal with than both football and baseball?

well, let's see where the giants are in 6 years and how many super bowls they have won and then we can talk.

it wasn't a fluke, it was a very well executed game plan by the giants and i give them all the credit they deserve. i've posted that about a dozen times.

Not saying you. I'm saying many of the Pats fans have the blinders on. I heard all the excuses. I'm not saying all, I'm saying many. Big difference.

Nah, I wouldn't say so. On any given Sunday anyone can win in football. It takes a combined skill and an epic collapse for a team to do it in four consecutive games.

“The suggestion that the New England Patriots [team stats] recorded the St. Louis Rams’ walkthrough on the day before Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002 is absolutely false,” the club said in a statement. “Any suggestion to the contrary is untrue.”

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league investigated the claim and found no evidence of wrongdoing.

Its all about the present chief. Not yesterday, not 6 years from now, today. The Giants are champions TODAY. Thats all that matters. I dont bask in their superbowl wins in the other two. I dont relish in my Red Sox win in 2004, I enjoy the win this year.
