see, i dont see that at all. i have had a few threads of my own saying how fucked up shit was in my life, but never did i take the punishment that GTD did. her and i had many disscussions on this board. we dont see eye to eye on many things. i really do think she was just taken the wrong way by most people. even me at times.
she would think things through cause it was her life she was talking about, important to her, and we would just post our quick "Dr. Phil thoughts" and think that it would fix things. anyway, i dont think she should have been banned.
there is another person on this board ( who i like a lot, so wont mention his name ) who is going through a rough spot right now, and his threads are somewhat a downer too. but he dont get bashed like GTD did.
i dont always agree with her, but i dont think anything she did was ban worthy. IMO.

like cutback said, there's definitely been a lot more slash and burn of members lately. i think it was a bit extreme to ban some folks, like speedy. i do miss his presence here.
if i was running the board i'd probably be even worse banning folks and rock the dictator mode, so there ya go
and thing is, most people end up just coming back under a new name, so they're not really "gone" per se.
what i find interesting is some do have a mindset of thinking they are indispensable, and truth is, nobody is really. there are folks who were here when i first came on that aren't around anymore, and i wish they were personally, but it's not like the rest of the board is coming to a screeching halt. such is life

Right, but whenever I or anyone starts a thread regarding happy relationships she feels the need to shit all over it..for example in this most recent one she started a nasty fight with someone http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=284493. Most of her comments have since been deleted, so it may not help to clarify..But anyway, most who have been around for years know her bs by now. As for 'ban worthy,' I guess that's really up to the mods to decide and it's what is being debated in this thread..

nothing wrong with trying to figure things out and asking for help. there IS something wrong in derailing other people's threads, and insulting other posters. that's being just as much of an ass as someone on the porch being stupid.
and sure, one can avoid people's threads. but did you like seeing someone talk smack about PJ over at the porch? that can get just as tedious as someone derailing a whole bunch of threads.
the common thread with some folk seems to be self-absorption, i dunno.

At times I felt like GTD was so deaf to any advice that perhaps she just liked trolling. Perhaps that's how the mods ended up perceiving her.
I have made friendships with banned people that have gone on well beyond their banning, but I have to say in all cases except for one the mods just applied the rules and my friends were just trying to push buttons. It was more fun when they were around, but in the end it was their decision to leave.
