How many times do you hit snooze in the morning?

Why can't I just wake up when my alarm clock goes off?

Every night I have grandiose plans of waking up early before work and do something like eat breakfast, read the paper, or work out.

Every morning when the alarm goes off I hit the snooze button about 5 times and end up rushing to take a quick shower to barely make it to work on time.

I used to hit it 5-6 times, no lie. I hated my job so much I would stretch ever last second in bed till I couldn't possibly get to work on time if I waited one more minute. Now that I am much happier, and on a way better schedule, I rarely get hit the snooze.

For some reason I always wake up a min or so b4 the alarm goes off just to turn it off. :)

Having a newspaper route for almost 6 years messed my sleep time up. I got rid of it almost 3 yrs and I still wake up at 4am sometimes. lol

I actually have a weird wake up rotation, it's almost like having my own pitchers list or something.

First, my TV auto-start turns on around 7:40 a.m. on some channel that's always having a Jesus infomercial. So it's like I'm waking up with Jesus. Then about 10 minutes later my alarm on my cell rings, and then 10 minutes later my clock alarm rings at 8.

So I'm hearing all these Jesus preachers talking away for about 20 minutes before I get out of bed. :)

I do that too... I wake up for a minute or so just to hit the snooze...and reapeat for atleast 3 more times before my dogs get sick of the noise and wake me up for their breakfast :)

I am always 7 minutes late, no matter where I go. I don't know why 7, but I am consistent atleast!

I'm the same way. My alarm is set for 4:45 every morning, and I usually wake up naturally about 5 - 10 minutes before it goes off, and I just go ahead and turn it off so I don't disturb my wife.

depends on the amount of martinis. :D

I might hit it once but get up before it goes off again. My alarm is on the other side of my room. And I put it on a station I detest, typically country. It motivates me to not go through that experience more than once...or twice...again, depending on the martinis. ;)

    I agree.

I'm a night person and I can't even stomach the thought of waking up before 8 on a regular basis ever again. I know it's gonna happen some day, but I'm not looking forward to it.

One time. I set my alarm for 4:41 am every night. I've got a 9 minute snooze so I get out of bed at 4:50, out the door by 5:35.

    Booyah!!!

I don't see the point of the snooze button.. it just wakes you up too early and you loose a little sleep. I set my alarm for the last possible second giving me just enough time to get ready as fast as I can for work. I literally jump out of bed, shave, shower, eat, brush my teeth and shit, all in that order, all in less than 30 minutes.

I have a different work shift for each day I work, so I get up at a different time each day but on Saturday I have to get up at 6:15 and I usually hit the snooze once.
I listen to my 06 concert bootleg (disc 2) on the train to wake me up!

Otherwise I hit the snooze at least a few times depending on how I feel when I wake up the 1st time. I usually wake up before the alarm time b/c my upstairs neighbors have such CLOMPY steps! I think they have their shoes on 24/7
I also put on a cell phone alarm when I have an appt I can't miss!

Is it hard having a different schedule every day? I find that I feel better if I wake up at the same time each day...even though I go to bed at different times every night.

not really b/c that's my 'schedule' so I've gotten used to it, the only day that is hard is Saturday, esp. if the weather is bad. I'm off two days during the week so that's pretty sweet b/c it allows for me to go to the doctor and the dentist, and see my dad in the nursing home.

Oh, that's really good. Yeah I could see that you'd get used to it after a while.

I guess I was thinking of when I used to work retail and my schedule was never EVER the same from week to week. That was tough.

I never used to, but now I hit it exactly 2 times per day.

At least I know I am not alone. Unfortunately that is some of the best sleep I get. I am a night owl and despise getting up before 11am.

Oh yeah, I remember those days. I did inventory at the Gap until 3am one time and I had to snap security tags on jeans! My thumbs hurt.

Even though there's a different start time each day, I have the same scheduled shifts each week, so it's a routine by this point but I would like to go back to a 'regular' 9 to 5. Or even a 10 to 6, that would be ideal.
