See I like facebook... I NEVER check my myspace. I don't know how to make it all "pimped out". At first I was all anti facebook but now I quite enjoy it.. and scrabulous too
Plus I just don't add people I really don't want as friends. I don't really care what my number of friends is at but some girl I didn't know from elementary school added me like FOUR times.. I was like wtf?? I haven't seen or talked to you in years.. and I don't want to0 -
acoustic guy wrote:I signed up a few weeks ago and now, all these people that I went to high school with are contacting me that I was not even friends with. I don't understand. Do you get a fucking prize if you have the most friends? A couple of the girls did not even like me then b/c I was an asshole and now they are requesting to be friends.
Stupid website. I just don't get it.Signed it, grind it.

Purple Puppy wrote:Are they people you never even talked to? Because when I was in high school there were some people, one of them who I'd never talked to said to me one time, "How come you don't talk to me anymore?", and it creeped me out. And one of my acquaintances said to me, "That was cold". His sister said to me after something I'd done that got her mad, " You can still smoke with us before school at Winn-Dixie(which was a grocery store), but don't do that crazy shit again.", and I had never smoked with her at Winn-Dixie.

Facebook is fun, with all of the pictures and people's comments, etc. Nobody has ever really known me, so I don't have the problem of people asking to be my friend. Although, I adore the folks on here who will add others as friend simply 'cause of the common interest in Pearl Jam.
I love getting to know people from all over. It's like the new version of pen pals.0 -
I heard someone my mums age (mid to late 40's) talking about it. She said " I dont know what it is, all these people on MyFace"
Had to try very hard not to laugh, especially cos I was at work and she was the CFO of the client.Stars walk the red carpet because they're famous - I walk the toilet paper because im the shit.0 -

Yeah, kinda scary to know that people can know more about you than you let them know about you on the message pit. O.o I wouldn't mind it though (getting to know some more mp members anyway)"I feel the same way about disco as I do about herpes." - Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, 19770

I'm on facebook and I really like it. Unlike Myspace, where pretty much anyone and everyone (especially fledgling businesses that just want to be noticed) asks to be your friend, I have the luxury of choosing who can see my profile and who I add. My friends list is extensive but I know every single one. If I didn't go to school with them then I know them from here, the Down forums or they're family. There's been plenty of people I refused, a guy who used to bully me in school for example... he asked me three times! He got rejected three times
Facebook is great if used in the right way. It's not a status symbol, it's a way of social networking. At the end of the day, you might be a celebrity in the world of t'interwebs but life don't mean shit if no one knows you out here...Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

I'm on Facebook purely to keep in touch with my daughter who has gone on her travels. I have no other use for the site. Seems to be a load of posers putting up stupid pics.
There again I am a miserable bugger. :mad:0 -

You think that's bad? Take a look at Myspace... some SERIOUS posers on there...Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

No thanks. If I look at that I'll become grumpy, misbehave and be told to sit on the naughty step.
Have to say that facebook is excellent for keeping in touch with my daughter. I can't get her on her mobile but she finds an internet cafe wherever she is.0 -
I'm on facebook. Just started using it a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if I like it yet or not, but it seems at least a little more mature than myspace. The only people we should try to get even with...

I agree, I am on Facebook as well and I think it is pretty cool. I mostly use it to see pictures of friends that moved away or from people you have not seen in awhile. It doesn't make you "cooler" if you have more friends, and like Sian-of-the-dead said, if you don't want them as your friend than don't accept them.Hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the jon so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz? YEEAAHHH. I don't care if he is Mr. Notorious BIG, can he croon?0 -
