    That's pretty funny.

I'm on facebook, like it much better than myspace. I love the pictures and updates. With the exception of scrabble, I don't bother with most of the applications.
scramble and word twist are a lot of fun, too. :)
i actually like the sites for keeping up with new pearl jam friends that i have met at shows! it also has reacquainted me with people that i haven't seen in years because of distance and that i actually like talking to again.
    so yeah, i'm a fan...even though i'm old. :D

How is that being a loser?

I have people from here on there..does that make me a loser?

and thank God for the 'Block this application'-button!!!

one girl I've NEVER talked to sent me a friend request one time.. her sis used to be friends with mine so I guess that was the reason.. needless to say I swiftly clicked 'Deny'. :D

well you accepted my friend request so i am happy for that :D

it is great to keep in contact with people, and share photos and all the rest

there is a lot of crap on there as well, but you can pick and choose, i ignore most of the crap on there!

facebook's pretty cool, it's an easy way to stay in touch with a lot of people.

kinda stalker-ish though, but I guess it's your own fault for putting your life on it.

    18/F/CA = 45/M/AL

I joined back when I was in college and it was only college students that were allowed on it. Since they opened it up I've run into the same thing where people from my high school send me friend requests and we weren't really friends. I see some people on there with like 500 friends, which is just ridiculous. It's an easy way to keep in touch with people though.

I signed up a few weeks ago and now, all these people that I went to highschool with are contacting me that I was not even friends with. I don't understand. Do you get a fucking prize if you have the most friends? A couple of the girls did not even like me then b/c I was an asshole and now they are requesting to be friends.
Stupid website. I just don't get it.

Yea I'm happy enough with myspace. No need for facebook IMO.

Maybe if I was 16 and trying to get laid

    :)

i don't care how old you are, trying to get laid is always a legitimate reason to do anything.

i do have a facebook and i'm currently in 3964th place in terms of friends.

See I like facebook... I NEVER check my myspace. I don't know how to make it all "pimped out". At first I was all anti facebook but now I quite enjoy it.. and scrabulous too :D

Plus I just don't add people I really don't want as friends. I don't really care what my number of friends is at but some girl I didn't know from elementary school added me like FOUR times.. I was like wtf?? I haven't seen or talked to you in years.. and I don't want to :p

Are they people you never even talked to? Because when I was in high school there were some people, one of them who I'd never talked to said to me one time, "How come you don't talk to me anymore?", and it creeped me out. And one of my acquaintances said to me, "That was cold". His sister said to me after something I'd done that got her mad, " You can still smoke with us before school at Winn-Dixie(which was a grocery store), but don't do that crazy shit again.", and I had never smoked with her at Winn-Dixie.
    Signed it, grind it.

Facebook is fun, with all of the pictures and people's comments, etc. Nobody has ever really known me, so I don't have the problem of people asking to be my friend. Although, I adore the folks on here who will add others as friend simply 'cause of the common interest in Pearl Jam.

I love getting to know people from all over. It's like the new version of pen pals.
    i agree with this.....

I heard someone my mums age (mid to late 40's) talking about it. She said " I dont know what it is, all these people on MyFace"

Had to try very hard not to laugh, especially cos I was at work and she was the CFO of the client.

The new Facebook page looks like myspace now. I kinda don't like it

  • Yeah, kinda scary to know that people can know more about you than you let them know about you on the message pit. O.o I wouldn't mind it though (getting to know some more mp members anyway)

  • I'm on facebook and I really like it. Unlike Myspace, where pretty much anyone and everyone (especially fledgling businesses that just want to be noticed) asks to be your friend, I have the luxury of choosing who can see my profile and who I add. My friends list is extensive but I know every single one. If I didn't go to school with them then I know them from here, the Down forums or they're family. There's been plenty of people I refused, a guy who used to bully me in school for example... he asked me three times! He got rejected three times :D

Facebook is great if used in the right way. It's not a status symbol, it's a way of social networking. At the end of the day, you might be a celebrity in the world of t'interwebs but life don't mean shit if no one knows you out here...
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

I'm on Facebook purely to keep in touch with my daughter who has gone on her travels. I have no other use for the site. Seems to be a load of posers putting up stupid pics.

There again I am a miserable bugger.

You think that's bad? Take a look at Myspace... some SERIOUS posers on there...

:) No thanks. If I look at that I'll become grumpy, misbehave and be told to sit on the naughty step.
Have to say that facebook is excellent for keeping in touch with my daughter. I can't get her on her mobile but she finds an internet cafe wherever she is.

I'm on facebook. Just started using it a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if I like it yet or not, but it seems at least a little more mature than myspace.

I agree, I am on Facebook as well and I think it is pretty cool. I mostly use it to see pictures of friends that moved away or from people you have not seen in awhile. It doesn't make you "cooler" if you have more friends, and like Sian-of-the-dead said, if you don't want them as your friend than don't accept them.
