What's next, you'll tell me there's no Santa???? Say it ain't so.

    At least Rambo is real.

Santa was real but most likely got char broiled in someones chimney sometime during the first big season...law of averages and all that.

Rambo on the other hand knows how to box, mountain climb, and lives in California with his sexy wife. Rather impressive for a gun toting madman.

Holy crap! That brought back a lot of memories when I was a lad. I was totally into the WWF during that time (and even more into the NWA which was on WTBS). I remember around the time of that video/album the WWF was getting stupid, though. That was around the time when Cindy Lauper and Cap'n Lou Albano staged that whole feud on MTV. So ridiculous! That was when I realized wrestling was truly fake! Ugh!!!! Still, nothing beats the time when Rowdy Roddy Piper cracked a coconut over Jimmy Snuka's head on "Piper's Pit"! Classic! Thanks for the stroll down memory lane!!!
    Rock on!

You're crazy, Rambo can't box. That Rocky guy can. But it doesn't matter, boxing is about as real as pro wrestling. Rambo should hook up with the A-Team. They'd destroy everybody, as long as they stay away from the CHiPs. Ponch and John don't take shit. They are what's real.

I just wanted to say, that happened at the Hamburg Fieldhouse, right up the road from me! I used to ride my bike there and skateboard in the parking lot. They have these lovely gaps. One time at an ECW show there, Balls Mahoney rode my buddy's skateboard in the lot.
  • After watching the second WWF, I suddenly realized it was fake and they were pretending.

My 10 yr old mind quickly formulated "oh well...so much for watching this crap....it isn't even real"

    :D

kinda off topic but i never understood the im not watching it, its fake arguement. simpsons, lost, 24, etc all are fake but if its fun to watch then its fun to watch. i grew bored with wrestling after wwf bought up everything, but i never understood some people. people at work would be like how can you watch that its fake. did they watch seinfeld cause they thought that was real?

I hear what you're saying, perhaps I just found it all too silly to have any redeeming qualities if it wasn't real. The concept of wrestling isn't built on the premise of acting, but fooling the viewer into believing it's real. The shows you mentioned are presented as fiction at face value, otherwise they would be documentaries.

Wrestling it's like living inside the movie Idiocracy imo.

wrestling for as long as i have been watching has sold its self as a sort of live acting, much like a broadway play. the idea of wrestling being real is like a magician. they have little tricks to fool the eyes but at the end of the day you know the lady wasnt really sawed in half. i think the only people fooled into thinking wrestling is real are the same that believe freddy will get you in your dreams.

in the end nothing new has been done in wrestling for maybe a decade so its pretty stale right now. but its all a show just like everything else on tv.

When it first came out on TV with the original cast, it did have the real vibe tagged to it, and it was left up to the viewer to decide whether it was real or fake. Wrestling is actually real sport afterall, and it was called wrestling. Magic is not believed to be real outside of myth and folklore, nor is any TV show aside from documentaries, reality TV, or game shows, from my experience.

Man, that is EXACTLY what I've been trying to tell people for YEARS. It's not like in the 80's where they still try to sell themselves as being real fighting or whatever. We all know it's not "real". If you ask me, the people that call wrestling fans idiots for watching it *because it's fake* are bigger idiots than the people that actually do watch it. As if wrestling fans actually think it's real. EvERYTHING on TV is fake, with the exception of sports (and news), which pro wrestling doesn't try to claim to be. For some reason WWE isn't sending tapes to Sportscenter.

It's a very intellectual "sport" I often see a lot of doctors, layers, professors, and scientists watching a lot of it.
