One that flies and runs on water. Oh, and it should be amphibious too so I can just drive into a lake to fill up.

All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
Otherwise as a kid it was an M3, but I had one of those. so just the top two left as it stands...But I'll probably never own an F1 McLaren for the obvious reasons.
Of course, with a paper route I could afford one of those nowadays. However, it's the time, resources, and know-how to bring one of those things back to showroom condition that's the challenge.

Not really all that of a challenge as there are plenty of VW tuners around that will make what you want. It's how much you are willing to spend cause it will probably cost you double what that car was new to make it showroom again. Then if you want upgrades, look to drop big bucks.
I'm 10k into my Civic and still investing more but it's worth it cause that thing is just too much damn fun

My dream car is a car with no car payments and doesn't need to be fixed. LOL
I'm with you. I just couldn't care less about the make and model of cars. As long as it can run over a Republican if I see them in the crosswalk then that's the car for me.

But a more realistic and attainable (ie, when I retire, kids are out of college) dream car would be a BMW M5.

Well for over twice as much I would hope that it would be faster. I still think the mclaren looks cooler though.
Ok seriously, the McLaren F1 is probably at the top of my list, followed by the 430 Scuderia
