I am a dredged ocean full of silt and shit, piled into dunes of general wankiness and overall crappery.

    I should sober up.

A simile is likening something to something else specifically, by use of the words 'like' or 'as' etc. ie, "I am like a gutted fish".

A metaphor transfers meaning directly to a new word, ie "I AM a gutted fish". The subject is not really a gutted fish but the metaphor lends somewhat more powerful sentiment to the assertion than the aforementioned simile would.

I hope that helped :) I am, as you are well aware, far too drunk to take seriously on this matter.
