    Imagine them hating all of your teams and you'll know what it's like to live in Boston. :)

    The refs are critically incompetent. That's what made Donaghy able to hide his goings on. It looked like just another bad ref.

    That's actually a good point. This equalizing crap that they have done for years gave this guy the ability to pull this off for a while at least.

    first off Tim Donaghy is a scumbag pure and simple. I happen to live in the area he is from and it's well known around here that he is scum and that most of the other refs truly dislike this guy. He is trying to save is hide by selling out anyone and everyone he can. Come on guys, you can't honestly think the NBA office is telling officials who to let win games are you? That would be suicide for the league to do that. Also if the league wanted the big markets to win how the heck has San Antonio won so often? Are there dirty refs and games that have been thrown - most likely. I have no doubt some of the refs bet and have thrown games, but I highly doubt the league has had anything to do with that.

    I think the fact that the NBA didn't keep a better eye on refs in general led to this though. Whatever existed or whatever bias we want to infer is only possible because the league let it get so bad.
