I went to give blood today as I do every three months, and I was told

    eat Liver, not very tasty though, so add bacon rashers and serve with mashed potato and boiled cabbage. My nan always used to say I was aneimic when I was a skinny teenager so I saw the doctor on her advice and there was no problem.... something was said about my thyroid being slightly over/under active and that I should have a blood test every 6 months but hey, fuck it was nearly 10 years ago

    You giving blood for free? If so, why'd you do this? Aren't there any negative effects from this kinda thing over time.

    EDIT: you boil em all together, separate the potaoes at end to mash like. :D

    I LOVE LIVER AND ONIONS! My husband thinks I'm gross for liking that, so I don't cook it much, but my mom makes it about twice a year for me! :D

    I routinely get turned away due to low iron in my blood. Since I started taking an extra iron tablet (I take Vitron C) and a multi every day, I haven't had any problem.
    They can't tell at the blood center if you're anemic, they can only tell you if your iron is too low to donate that day.

    i've had issues a few times where my iron was low. they give me a list of foods to eat before i donate and then i'm usually ok the next time.

    Not all women are jealous and fat ugly morons if they tell someone they are anemic and can't give blood. But its a common misconception around here that all women hate each other and would chew off their left tata to look like one another.. humph.

    Last time I gave blood it was to a scary hemoglobin finger pricking test. And it made me woozy.. it was only one drop.. the thought of blood makes me feel faint.
