I love the fact that they walk around like this and think it is normal. It's fucking hysterical. Just reminds me of this one time walking through the Denver airport and this guy with boots, hat, and that stupid tie thing...man, I couldn't stop laughing.

Oh, and they're mostly all from Texas. A whole 'nother world that state is...

WTF is going on here in Texas and some other States? I was downtown having lunch when all of a sudden two guys walk out of a restaurant both dressed like cowboys. I mean cowboy hat, boots, big buckle, and had on wrangler jeans. It looked like he was dressed up for Halloween. I told my friend "I hope they are about to get on their horses". Nope, they got in a Ford Truck. Look, I know it's Texas, we are "where the west began" and blah blah blah, but WOW! What would happen if I dressed up as an Indian and walked around town like that? Sorry to vent, but my friend said that one of them even had on spurs....What the hell??
OK, I am guessing that you're in Fort Worth but you're not from here? (The city motto is "Where the West Begins")

Lots of people in Texas really do dress that way, as you've noticed. We are also close enough to working ranches that the guys you saw may be actual cowboys. I'd have to see them to know for sure. But spurs? That's weird.

    I'll ponder that while I'm out tending the stock . . . .

Nope, I live in Austin and have been here for twenty years. I have a sister in Dallas. She knows all about Fort Worth...they aren't real cowboys, they just think they are. ;)

OK, ya got that right! I can't imagine real cowboys in Austin, just wannabes.

Like I said, if you're in Fort Worth you can be on a working ranch in about a 30 minute drive. We have enough rodeos and cutting horse competitions that it just isn't that unusual to see real cowboys here. But after living in Texas 20 years, you're like me (a native)--you can spot a real one when you see em. :D

    That's funny!
They have one at the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Fort Worth. I don't know how to describe it. It's not like a real one, sort of "low-impact." You can ride it and watch a video of yourself on it. Talk about cheesy! My sister and I took turns riding it.

C'mon Pam, you're in Austin. These guys could just be in town for a bj from a tranny and a bondage show before heading back to the ranch in Kerrville. ;)
  • Well I live in fort worth, but I promise you that you'll never see me dressed like a cowboy. ;)

I never said you'd see this old hippie dressing like a cowgirl! Just because I live in Fort Worth and ride my horse to work every day. :p:)

Wow, I guess I don't see what the big deal is. I could care less how people dress. I wait on so many stinky hippies everyday and I don't think anything about their garb. A cowboy would be a fun change of pace. Yesterday, 3 people called me pocahontas because of the way I looked, I didn't care.
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.
